What have you done to your MS3 today?

I bought new tires, 225/45ZR17 Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S and installed my eyelids. After Christmas the Koni Yellows and SPC rear camber links are going in.

WOW. And I thought my posts were long. (lol) j/k
No Man, Cool!! You've waited a long time for this, I think we can understand your excitment. Welcome Back, Jack! And let me say, You Don't Waste Any Time Dew U?
edit: I have to add here that my first mods were: Removing the rear headrests; also the parcel shelf; and finally that stupid plastic engine cover, all in the first day. It was then I discovered the insulation was already chewed up and falling onto the engine, though it would be months later when I figured out why... when I found the petrified mouse body in the bottom of the airbox. I figure it was a sea going mouse and came over w/the car.
Concerning your problem getting the shift cables off: One picture is worth a thousand words.

Mine popped off in an instant using this tool.
I found out about the plastic bushing/cap too when I did mine, and I agree, the intructions do make it seem easier, but with one extra pair of hands through the last part, mine was in in 30-40 mins.
One more thing, Jack....

Let's see her!!

Unlike you, my friend of relatively few words, I prefer to use thousands of them and only partially get my point across. I may have worked quickly, but that was only because I was releasing 6 years of pent-up automobileless frustration.

Ah yes, the dreaded interior panel remover thingy! I had a hell of a time just trying to find a couple screwdrivers in my bro's garage. I did a surprising amount of the work with a Leatherman tool (I have the Charge Ti, it's nice).

Happy Holidays to you, your family, and the entire extended forum family.

After the madness, I will post some pics.

Today I bought a True Red MS3 Sport!

Congrats Bufalo! I picked mine up on Friday. Today however, I flogged it unmercilessly on access roads near the Blue Ridge Parkway (glare)

This is what I was talking about. I've actually seen them cheaper than this auction... 129 + 15 shipping on there.
Is this a comparable price to NSN?

Same thing but NSN's price is better at $142. Plus he is a sponsor of some of the other Mazda3 forums.

C-Bass, nice car, hope to see you at a NC meet sometime. Plan to autocross it?

Thanks man, I'm loving it. And yes, now that work is slowing down, I hope to make more of the meets. As far as the other...I'm not sure. I've got a love hate relationship with autocross. I love the driving portion itself, it's a total blast, and road courses can't match the sheer adrenaline factor you get while autocrossing. However, I hate sitting around and working the track for 8 hours for 4 minutes of track time. I've only run with one organization, but from what I've been able to gather, it's pretty much the same story across the board. At least it was 4 or 5 years ago when I was running with THSCC.

Run groups are now in four groups. You run in two and worl for one. Not too bad.

nice, yea true red is nice color...my dealer doesnt even have ne more reds....so im the only true out there so far.....

at least do the airbox cutting mod. Simple, effective, safe, and quite frankly, the engine loves it. You can physically hear the engine breathing better. Some things are better off modified...

What is the airbox mod for the speed3? Is there a how-to on it?

LMAO! You should have shown up at your dealership with that in a plastic baggie, and handed it to the PDI people of your dealership. Just say "Hey, found this in my car's airbox, I think it belongs to you guys because I KNOW you checked the air cleaner before giving the car to me, RIGHT? Right."

Hopefully, not a plague-carrying mouse!

and tint... and the rarest of views...my beetle outside of the garage :)

Hard to believe that the beetle and MS3 are almost exactly one fox body Mustang GT away from eachother in horsepower. :)

Hmmm? Hopefully not, but it's been many months and I'm still alive. All I've gotten recently is a stupid cold.

Looks good!! I don't really like the new fogs, but w/the yellow tint they look much, much better.
Off-topic: I used to know someone w/a '61-'62 Beetle that looked exactly like yours. His had the then optional reserve tank. I was wondering if yours does?
For all you young'uns that wouldn't know, the Beetle used to come std w/a 1 gal reserve as they did not have a fuel gauge until the mid-late fifties... '56 or '57, I believe? Then it became one of the very few options after that.
