Which is why I never understood putting that kind of gearing on the turbo cars, with their broader powerband. Dumb. The 5 speed makes so much more sense.

As much as your gear shift moves during the run, have you don't the mazdacomp engine mounts? Might want to put that next on the list.
Just swapping to the 5 speed would be far cheaper, they're readily available.

Watching the video, I was shocked to see how much that shifter moves around with the way the car / powerplant flexes.
I have them sitting on the work bench but haven't had a chance to do the swap yet. Had I been smart (which I've never claimed to be), I would have done it while doing the turbo swap.

Hell, it feels like I blow up 3rd every time I miss it at the autox. Also, it always feel a bit funny for a while, but it felt "normal" again on the drive back.
Well thankfully the BT is mounted higher than the factory turbo. I have gained additional clearance. Gotta get under there and look. I remember the step of connecting the motor mount is later in the installation instructions than it was in the disassembly instructions.
How do you "place" at a school? Isn't that sort of like "winning" a track day?
They did drills for the morning, and then ran a mini-autox in the afternoon. Real start-finish with timing, course working, paddocks, etc. I think we all got about 3 runs in. I've never seen that sort of exercise for an autox school before, but it was really good to get everyone experience in the rhythm of an event. Some of the instructors ran too, a Lotus Elise ran a 34.xxx and a stripped/caged RX7 on RS3s ran a 37.0xx, and I ran a 37.1xx.
