^ Lookin' good!

Drove mine to work today, enjoying a brief bit of 50+F weather before it chills down for the winter. First time I've driven it in over 2 weeks :(

I did this (click pic for details):

I don't see any duct (excuse me, racer's) tape in that picture. Can't be a proper installation without it. I also like how your concern for weight savings shows in only using two screws to attach the steering wheel. (2thumbs)

lol there is duct tape covering the rivets behind the phone. And yes, gotta love weight savings :-P

Obviously, just did that for mock-up. The hardware I've had on there was zinc coated steel and after a couple years has gotten rusty and just looks bad (it bugs me, whatever). So I've got some stainless hardware from the mothership (McMaster Carr ftw) coming in today or tomorrow.

Had it towed to the mechanic.

Out running around in it with callie.

Idling in the parking lot a few minutes waiting, so i shut it down.

She comes out, turn key to"on" and wait forthe fuel pump to prime, no noise. Turn key and it turns over but won't start.

Get a ride home to get my tools and Callie's car.

Suns gone now but I manage to install a new fuel pump and strainer in the parking lot of home depo.

Turn the key again and now the pumps priming but still won't start.

Pulled the plugs to check for spark as well as if its getting fuel. Plugs were dry so no fuel into the motor.

That's all I could do in the parking lot so I had her towed to the mechanic.

Waiting to hear the outcome

Plus side: Callie can now change a miata fuel pump.

Turns out to be the ignition coil

So $290 later (plus $85 tow bill and new fuel pump) it runs again.

Off to pick it up

Something is odd

It keeps leaving black marks behind me when I step on the gas
