What have you done to your Miata today?

Drove it to work today. Man that thing runs like a ***** ape in 55 degree temps.

Cold air FTW!

the lady has been driving mine to work, found that the alternator pivot bolt had lost it's nut and was ready to shred the accessory belt. Replaced the bolt and nut and added a nord lockwasher set.

I got mine aligned yesterday (as close as it would get to the FM alignment with my height. Car feels much better but I now have a clunk in the rear. Over every bump and every 1st gear start I can hear something clunking around. Thinking something is not tight.

Drove it today... 57 deg ambient. Those tires don't really like cold pavement (as my 2nd gear light up down the street showed), but man does the engine love it.

Just gotta rub it in for you Florida boys. You know... for when mine gets parked for 4 months and you're still driving yours.

Got new Conti DW's waiting to be installed. Also ordered the rig to tow the Miata behind the motorhome.

nice. Me and my brother are looking to get another NB and make it a dedicated track rat. but before that happens there is still a lot I want to do to my NB.
tomorrow I am doing an oil change and I need to order brake pads. I am looking at getting some good performance pads that will hold up well on a track day. any suggestions? I am using the stock calipers and rotors.

Porterfield. For a street car with some track use: R4-S pads, maybe R4-E if you really flog it hard on the track for long driving sessions.

My Lemons/Chump team runs Porterfield's exclusively after experimenting with a few other brands. They offer phenomenal braking capability, great bite and feel, and none of our drivers has ever felt them fade during 2 hour driving stints. One set of pads will last us 24+ hours of race time. With MK2 MR2s we don't usually pass many cars on the straights, but there's hardly a car out there we can't out-brake. Plus, they're made in the USA.

I've used Hawk HP+ and now I'm using the Carbotech XP10 in front /XP8 in rear combination that so many SM guys use.

I've been happy with either, the HP+ work better as a dual purpose pad as the Carbotechs need some heat to really get the car to stop but once warm they slow the car down much better.

Can't go wrong with Porterfield either, I've heard other good things in addition to what James has said.

Will you should look into Cobalt Friction pads as well...I use them on my MSP and you do not have to bed them at all! I feel they're superior to the Carbotechs, a bit more expensive as they are not massed produce, but built when ordered. I have used the Porterfields as well for street and auto-x and they work perfectly....

I'll give them a shot next. It'll probably be mid-next year before I need another set of pads, I just put the XP10s/8s on. Where do you go to get them?

And, how are they going to work with my rotors that have been used with the Carbotechs? Am I going to have to resurface?

I call Andy Lin @ Cobalt Friction and he'll take the order and will give you a discount as well, let me know when are ready to order.

OK sounds good I'll keep that in mind and let you know. Probably in the spring sometime.

Great info. I will look into those some more. So, far I am leaning towards the more aggressive portfields.
Track sessions I have been to are typically 15-20 min sessions with typically 4-6 sessions per class per track da
The r4-s might be better for dd and don't cost a lot
