What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

1st oil change on my 2012 Mazda5.
Are all these (at least on the 2.5l engine) using a spin-on filter? I remember the cartridge one from my 2006 and I hated it, bought the spin-on adapter.

Change transmission (MT) fluid. Prev. owner said he did that, given the character I re-did it regardless. He did but switching to a nice RedLine oil still made a very noticeable difference, for the better.

Changed coolant. There was blue in the overflow but a blue/yellow (very green) mix in the car.
Went with Blue because that's what I had bought. I'll do this again for a better flush in a couple thousand miles I think.

Sparkplug change revealed it's time for a new valve cover gasket. (Middle two were drowning in oil.)
One hole had a badly corroded plug with signs of water intrusion, all dry and discolored when I found it.

Ordered:
- Mazda OEM double-din adapter (part# C513-55231) for radio from mercari.jp.
- Foglights + stalk with switch
LF05-14-302B is the correct filter

Put fog lights on the car. NOS but TYC brand. Wasn't a fan of the gap between light and trim and made a gasket from some older high-temp hose, split length-wise. Installing the stalk with fog option was easy. That stalk also has an additional fog light option that can be triggered - no functionality, possibly for rear fog light?
Does anyone know where that bulb would be located? Was it even an option on US cars?

What have I done to our 5 this week? almost destroyed it. We had a snowstorm last saturday, so we went for a little drive on sunday morning and someone was plowing their driveway. It looked like all soft snow across the road, but it was solid ICE. We hit one of the chunks.....the result.

480.00 later, she's back on her wheels again.

That happens. One of the few things that are nearly guaranteed to break on our cars. That and engine mounts. Which, if you haven't replaced them, do so.

Now that you mention it, I think I replaced the engine mounts on our last 5. I need to get some suspenison parts too, but not sure what's out there now. Been a while. I know bilstien makes struts and shocks, So I may go that route as a base and then load with springs and OE mounting parts.
