What have you done to your Mazda3 today?

Dogbone engine side bolt completely worked it's way out, found it in the driveway(wow) motormount 001.1.webp

gotta love those! how big was it?
It was teeny tiny, but it still bothered me. It took the guy about five minutes to fix it. (nana)

Here's what I did yesterday:

Mazda3 steering wheel audio controls pop right off with like no trouble. Who knew?

Got some Coca-Cola in there like three weeks ago when my large drink from McDonald's exploded. The seat took the brunt of it, but a few drops got in there and made the buttons stick and pop and crack and be retarded. So, I took it all apart to do some cleaning.

hey thejeans where did you get your camo wrap for your emblem and wing lip thing lol? do they make an urban camo wrap (the white and black and gray camo)?

Update RE: low-beams installed back in January

Replacement extra-bright low-beam lamps (Sylvania Silverstar (4000K)): $40

Losing (and retrieving) a retaining pin for the driver's-side cover panel: $0

Discovering that the retainer clip for the passenger's-side lamp assembly was improperly installed at the factory, resulting in it freeing the assembly from the housing while it was still attached to the power socket and the rubber gasket, prompting me to attempt to reseat it in order to remove the power socket from the lamp assembly: ~2 hours, 3 scraped knuckles and 10 nearly frozen fingers

Changing strategy and instead trying to free the lamp assembly/gasket/socket from the head light housing and retainer clip: ~20 seconds (hand)

Successfully performing routine maintenance on my own car rather than paying someone else an exorbitant sum to do it: priceless :D

BTW: low-beam brightness much improved over the OEM bulbs. Assuming they last at least as long as the OEMs (~18 months) they'll be well worth the extra $5/bulb.

Well.. they BOTH went out within the past 3 days -- roughly half the time the OEMs lasted; left went out on Weds., right went out yesterday. Good thing they're satisfaction guaranteed for 12 months, but since that requires returning them to the manufacturer I went ahead and bought replacements already: Sylvania SilverStar Ultras (4100K) w/ a $10 rebate so they will have been the same price... in ~8 weeks..

Installing them tonight... or tomorrow (Sat.).. Hopefully with less drama this time. (glare)

P.S. Now that I've seen what it looks like with just the side markers and the fogs, I'm reeeally wanting to do the independent fog light mod! I'll probably mod it so the fogs can come on with the side markers instead of with the low-beams and I may keep the fogs-off-when-highs-on functionality.

I test fitted some 25mm spacers today.

I like how they look in the rear but the fronts will probably get either 15 or 20mm spacers. They poke a bit too much and will make clearance a problem with the ride height.

Silly Boy!! <^_^>

130k!! WOW!! That's a lot of mileage.
I realize my mileage is low for most people, but mine is just over 58k.... in 6yrs, 1m.

Bought mine used in March of 2007 with 28k on the odometer. That's what a 102 mile round-trip daily commute will do to ya! (That's 510 miles/week for those mathematically challenged!)
102,000 miles in 3 1/2 years of ownership! Have I mentioned that I love to drive my car?! (drive2)

Who says you can't drift a FWD car?!

Got a little sideways on an off-camber, right-handed sweeper at the Nebraska Region autocross in Lincoln, NE yesterday (check out the right rear tire--barely touchin' with my wheel turned to the left!)...I didn't hit any cones!!

Not here eiether!

Maybe I wasn't trying hard enough! I never stopped or slowed down during the drift, just mashed the gas and pulled out of it just like that! That guy (David Cosseboom, the one who takes the pics) always seems to be in the right place with his camera!

3's are fun to drive! I'm sure you guys/ladies already know that!! Zoom-Zoom!!

installed speedline wide angle mirrors and paint matched partplaza eyelids yesterday... crappy weather this week so havent had a chance to wash the car and take any pics

Finally replaced my scraped up LF RX-8 rim, from when an elderly lady ran me into the curb a few weeks ago, with a shiny new one that her insurance company bought for me! Since I was doing that, I had the worn out Yokohama S-drives replaced with 4 new 225/40/18 Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs!(cabpatch)

I looked at my car. It is on jack stands for new brakes and to paint her wheels. I would have drove her or washed her but since I was shipped the wrong rear pads, I am waiting on UPS to bring the correct ones.

For the money you spent on those over priced bulbs you could have gotten a HID kit, or just stuck with factory bulbs and saved a significant amount.

Not too mention HIDs and factory bulbs last a lot longer. You didn't seem to learn your lesson when they blew, so I guess you will when they blow the second time.
