What have you done to your CX-5 today?

This is a great cheap simple little gadget. It's excellent also for using it with a laptop.

Dumb question - I thought the USB ports remain powered even when the car is off. So do you have to manually switch off your LED light strip?
I tried it the other day when I got it. I didn't ignite the engine, I just powered on first, then plugged the device in, and it lit up.

I then purposely left it in and powered off and the light went off.

Air-con vent trim

Hi Guys,

I've been a proud owner of an Australian 2014 model CX-5 Akera for about 3 months now and loving it.

I've added some Air-Con vent silver/chrome trim to it on either side of the dash. The colour is quite a close match to the door trims thankfully. Not 100% match but pretty good I thought.

well, it was yesterday, but installed a hidden-hitch class III hitch. was a decent battle at first, but overall went very smooth.

Very nice ride Chris_top_her. Would love to do the same if I had a white one. Nice touch with the black roof rails and spoiler. Awesome.

Thanks. I am still on the fence about the middle spoiler but I paid a fair amount for it so it's on lol.

Nice, I was thinking about doing this myself, so I can get a bike rack. I hate the way some hitches look though, when the bike rack isn't installed: like the car has dingleberries hanging where it forgot to wipe its butt. (boom06) When you have time, could you post another photo of your finished install, showing the whole car with wheels on the ground?

After several months trying to source running boards / side steps in the UK that are load-bearing and don't obscure the jacking points, Mazda UK told me they used to supply such a thing but have since discontinued them. Eventually managed to source one of the last three pairs available, and had them fitted...look pretty good I think, especially against the crystal white.

Excuse the dirty alloys...not up to the concourse standards of most photos on this thread!:p

I registered mine in great anticipation of my '16 CX-5 clearing the port in Bremerhaven, and hopefully making it to me before the end of the week

So I picked up a pair of those lamps and they don't fit the OEM opening or the socket?

Do you mean they wont twist into the opening? There are 3 little phillip head screws that hold the metal tab on. Loosen them and you should be able to twist them in. Otherwise, wrong size?! Good luck.

That was a joke post, that would be completely ridiculous to install something like that lol.

Perhaps it was, but the "joke" isn't far off from reality. For decades, rear contact alignment shims HAVE been used by alignment techs to solve rear alignment issues on cars without ABS.

An example shim

Hmmmm, I'll look at it again tonight, must have missed something?
