What have we done to the Poor FS Section.

Its a COmplete mess now.....Broken down into FAR too many categories and SUbcategories.....You almost need a New posts Button JUST for the Marketplace now.

Wow....IMHO....Huge Step in the wrong direction.

*and I know its still a work in prgress....but how its broken down says enough about how it will be.....It will be a mess even when done.*

What I think it eliminates is someone saying "Garage Sale!!!" and listing 25 different things in the same thread. As a buyer, I like to know what's in the thread based on the title. It might be a bit overwhelming at first, but it will make it easier to find something that you're looking for. We all know the search function sucks.

EDIT: Looked over the new FS section again. Another thing that it helps is it lets you know what car the part is for based on the section. Numerous times have people posted a part for sale, but not say what car it's for.

PRoblem is....I tried to list individual items....and I got bitched at for "Making Numerous Threads" and was told to make one thread.

WTF....Now you're telling us to break it down....Which is what I wanted to do the whole time.

Also....For those of use that are AMM's....Our items will now be less seen or wil lhave to be cross posted to get the same exposure.

I know if this is the case....I wont be renewing my AMM.....If it doesnt work...I won't pay for it.

Unless you guys have another idea for that.

I have to say that I like the idea of breaking it down...somewhat. Obviously if someone has something for the RX-8 or a Speed3 only, those forums are great. But if there are parts that fit a Protege5 and the ES and an LX and so on, thats sort of a PITA. Plus there might be universal parts that apply to numerous models...

I just didnt think that the old FS section was broken myself...

You're not the only one that's not digging the new For Sale section. I know it's a huge change and a lot of people are questioning it but it will be much better in the long run.

As far as the AMM thing goes, if you are selling a certain product for a certain car such as your gauge pods, the people with that car will be checking in their respective sections. If anything, it will weed out people looking at your thread and realizing that it's for the protege instead of the 3 or something.

It'll work. Give it some time. We're always open to suggestions and as time goes on we'll be relying on the feedback of the members to make the boards better. If you have any suggestions or comments or anything, just shoot me a PM and I'll do my best to take care of you.

How about instead of having three different sections within the MSP section, there is just the main part, instead of having it branch off at the top into the subforums.

Some suggestions:

One for the Protege, P5, MSP & MP3. No subforums. This will make us happy since the majority of the items listed in the old FS section were for us anyway.

Another section for the New Gen Mazda (look at how often things are listed in the Mazda5, MPV & Mazda Trucks and the Miata & MAZDASPEED MX-5 sections, do you REALLY need separate forums for those?) At least group them together more than they are. Then with the Mazda3 & Mazdaspeed3, group those together like the Mazda6 & Mazdaspeed6 already is.

For the WTB section, there needs to be one in each section.. if you're separating the FS section that much you might as well give each one it's own WTB section.

As for the "General For Sale" I personally am not going to post in there, as I want my items seen. I would rather post in the section that corresponds best with the item that I'm selling. If I have MSP wheels for sale, I'm going to post in the MSP section instead of the Wheels/Tires section of the General For Sale. The Group Buys are probably not going to get much attention there either, and it would be nice to see that subforum in the other sections that corresponds with that particular type of car that the GB item is for. I would keep the General For Sale for the Non-Mazda items and the Completed Transactions, and also add in a subforum for Member Seller Ratings.

I like it and dislike it. I like how it separates all the mazdas from protege to 6,3 and so on. But for the protege it should just be all together as one since the car is the same and all parts fit all cars.

What about if you make things for more than just the proteges?

As an AMM, you are allowed to cross-post. For instance, you can put up your thread about the emblems in each of the for sale sections :D

Oh and I've brought up all of your guys' and girls' concerns to the other mods. We'll keep you guys updated. The switch was never meant to make you guys feel left out nor was it just to make the moderator's lives easier. I can probably speak for all the mods when I say without you guys, we obviously wouldn't have a forum let alone a good one. We'll work hard to figure out a solution that will work for everyone. I hate it cause with too many different catagories I feel I am going to miss out on a good deal or people will never find my Flashing Thread. Especially if your a noob and trying to find something they will get lost, confused and then frustrated. If somebody post something in the wrong place which happens all the time are guys prepared to move these threads where ever you think it should be classified? Also as a member who owns kinda 2 different Mazda now I will have to check more than one catagory for stuff for sale. I don't think there are that many post that warrants all these different catagories.

You'd actually be surprised. As I said before, as it stands, there are too many subsections but we're working on that. I think we'll get it to the point where it's perfectly necessary to have the subsections that will be in place.

Noob s***....I am OG....and I am already confused and frustrated.

I like to browse all of the FS sections...and its just a jumbled mess I cannot navigate now.

I cannot see this working out for the better....Not even remotely setup like it is now.

Sorry....Not trying to be negative either....I just think someone took this change a LOT too far.

I think that there are too many FS sections. The general FS section was doing great. ( I think so anyways)

WTF happened????

I DO NOT like the new layout of the FS section

they just moved them all to one area, there was seperate FS section in the mazda 3 an 6 sections so the just split them up my model in the same section

There are some good suggestions made here in this thread.
I also like and dislike it. Hard to pin down.
Better for buyers, slightly more agitating to sellers of some goods.

I am totally with Forcefed on this. There are plenty of times when I cruise the FS thread just looking for stuff. Sometimes 3 or MSP related stuff is out there that I want to snag for my P5. And what about stuff like Mazdaspeed Oil Caps (something I am looking for a good deal on right now). That's a universal part, but it's just as likely for someone to post in the section for the car it came from, so there could be one in Mx-5, RX-8 or MS3 sections instead of the P5 or universal parts sections where I will look. Sometimes people have things to sell from different vehicles, or things that work for different vehicles. I really think that the FS section was fine the way it was. Maybe we could go back to the old way but institute some sort of title requirement, like FS: Mz3, MS3 - <list of="" items="">. Anything is better than this mess. It makes finding things of interest that you might consider buying very difficult, and limits the visibility of everying FS. I really don't like it at all.

Edit: the fact that our search function is not very good makes this all worse. For instance...go to the FS section and search "oil cap"...you get NOTHING. If our search function worked better, it would make this over-complicated FS change a little easier.
