I was looking into buying the megan racing cat. But this guy at an autozone tried to sell me a ractive catback,never heard of it. Has anyone heard of it or has any suggestions?
What exhaust to buy???

I've heard of megan, a few people on here have that one. Ractive doesn't ring any bells but that could just mean it isn't that popular. If I was to suggest any catback system it would have to be Racing Beat. Most of the people on here have it, and its one of the best ones. If not that one than magnaflow which is also another good one. Either one is a good exhaust system, but racing beat fits our cars the best.

Magnaflow and megan cat backs are the best bang for the buck on Proteges. You get a nice tone with out the nasty drone you get with any axle back. Spend the extra money and get a cat back. Its worth it. I've had both and I am happy I sold my axle back to get a cat back exhaust.

Best option is the racing beat catback in my opinion.
I have headers-catless midpipe-racing beat cb and it sounds perfect. No droneing at all. And alot of my friends dont think I have all this exhaust modifications because they are used to hearing there loud rice bins with 4" tips.

Not to mention loud as hell...
To the OP, you'll notice that most people here will say to go with either the Racing Beat system or the Maganflow. Difference in gains is minimal to nonexistent so it really comes down to sounds and appearance. I had the Magnaflow on mine P5 until I went with the Corksport (for 'other' reasons) and from what I can hear of the Racing Beat the Maganflow is a little louder and drones more. I do think the Racing Beat looks a little better though. There should be a comparative exhaust thread around here somewhere...
Count me as another bump for the MagnaFlow cat-back. No drone and nice and quite at idle and comes to life at high RPM's but not ricey at all!! I also like the MagnaFLow exhaust tip. It's not a big canister coming out the back. Keeps it clean looking imo

yeah, i have corksport as well, i would have gotten the racing beat one but i HATE the look of both the angeled cut and the dual tip on the muffler. I have the OBX header and the corksport it is loud! but since im going turbo i needed a 2.5 exhaust and the corksport isnt even a catback, its a header back/j-pipe back exhaust so it already comes with a catless midpipe.
