What drives your Zoom-Zoom?

Mazda Protege LX
I had a very random thought this morning. Someone last night asked me why I like Mazda's I gave them my answer, and I guess this morning the question was still in my mind. I'm now curious to know, why do you like Mazda's or more specific your type of model? What it is about them that gives you your zoom-zoom fix?

Any input anyone?

I Like My Mazda 6 Because Its Clean Looking And Comes Stock With Enough Hp To Kill Civics

Originally I was all about honda (had a few in the past) and I never thought of owning a 4 door or a non Honda.

But one day, I was looking for a new car and stumbled apon the wagon, I thought nothing of it but kinda liked it. So I took it for a test drive, and started to like it more. Then I got out and continued looking, well about 15 mins later, I ended up going back to that dealership and buying it that day. I guess at first I didn't want to like it because it wasn't a honda and it was a 4 door, but something about it.

Its not fast, nor the greatest looking, but it has always gave me a smile and even though its the slowest car ive owned (besides my old crx), and I have to admit (I have lost to old grandmas who can barely breath and are hadicapped driving there fresh caddilac with all features) I just don't want to stop driving the wagon and it always makes me smile (unlike my hondas which always got me introuble with popos). Everytime I get out of the car, I always end up turning around once or twice just to look at it!

So to answer the question, I just really enjoy mazda's now because of a few reasons. They are a blast to drive, always end up making you smile (unless its a zoomer boomer), its a whole different scene from Honda, and even if its not the fastest, I can guarantee that whenever you get out of it. You always end up turning around and taking a double look.

Everyone has Hondas, but not many can step up to the Mazda level.

I love my car ('03 protege) for a few reasons:

-sporty feel...taking turns, running through the gears, it just FEELS better than other cars in it's class
-aggressive look...again, compared to other cars in it's class the sharp lines just look better than some of the bubble cars (corolla)
-price...for the price the car is a great value. I picked up my ES with every option except automatic tranny, 5(6?) disk cd player, and moon roof and it still came in under 15K
-insurance...unlike some other cars (subies, mitsus, acuras) the insurance on my car doesn't skyrocket because of the badge on the front
-people love the car...I have a lot of people compliment me on my car, ask what it is, and just generally enjoy riding in it. I like that it isn't everywhere (civics) so people are still impressed because it's something a little different

just a few reasons off the top of my head.

^^^ I beg to differ on the looks dept. I worked at a used car dealership after my freshman year in college and one day we got this little red wagon in. After one look I knew I had to have this car so I went and hid it around in the back. I bought the car without really doing a serious test drive or really knowing anything about it (I was a Toyota truck guy before). The more I drove the P5 the more I liked it. It looked damn good, had a nice interior and handled like no other. The only thing it was lacking (and I didn't even realize this until I became a member of these forums) was power. Well to make a long story short, I've made few cosmetic changes to the car and I think I've solved the power issue (for now :)).

I like my Miada because it's cheap, reliable, and fun. I don't like Mazduhs only: i'm a car guy, I like anything and everything with 4 wheels.

my parents were gonna buy me a car but i could never really decide on what i wanted, i basically narrowed it down to probably a sedan because i hated hatchbacks

i didnt really know what i wanted other then that, i had to get a asian brand because my dad didnt like the american cars, i always like the mazda 6 when it came out but i thought it was too filipino for me

i went to a bunch of dealers and nothing really interested me, even the mazda dealer had crappy cars that i didnt like, btw i was looking for used cars, i think this was around when the ms6 came out and i loved that but couldnt get it

then one day the nissan dealer called and told my dad they had the protege, so we went down there, drove it around, my first test drive, then we bought it, mostly because i was tired of looking for a car

yeah so i guess i was happy with it, i am so happy it was a mazda and not a honduh

My first Mazda was a new '73 pick up. Why? It was cheaper than anything else I could find. I've been a Mazda fan, since. The price is still a good bang for the buck. The cars usually do well in Consumer Reports surveys. They're fun to drive. Except for our Mustang, we have all Mazdas, now. The RX-7 is a bit of a hybrid with its GM engine, though.
