Mazdaspeed protege with Geico. by the way... if you up the HP to like 280 and get in a wreck... are you still covered??!

insurance does rate ur quote based on hp....its based on engine size.....a evo or sti is cheaper then a is300.......or other v6 or v8 car in the same price range

I have State Farm and the card just says Mazda Protege. However, when I got mine the insurance person asked me what I had, ES, DX, or Speed; so they know.

I have State Farm and they list it as 2003 Mazda Protege. They tried to insure it as a DX, etc. and I'm good friends with my agent so I asked her if it would make a difference what model they had listed. She said it would reduce my premiums BUT if I ever wrecked the car the would only pay out for a regular Protege! In the end it was a good thing I paid the extra amount. My wife wrecked the car with 3400 miles on it a few days later! When the body shop tried to bill StateFarm for the rear bumper skirt that had to come from Japan StateFarm freaked out and my agent had to go to bat for me and let the underwriters know it was insured as a Mazdaspeed and they needed to go ahead and pay for it. For everyone who doe snot have their cars insured as a Mazdaspeed.... watch out if you ever wreck it!
