What do you guys think?

I think I'm going to vomit. Yep. I just vomited. (puke)

P.S. Your avatar is very...awkward.

Shanes- Thanks for the feedback.

cymx5- thanks for your comment lol.. I changed my avatar. I have been meaning to do that for a long time lol.

Ha! Your new avatar makes sense of your old avatar. Cool!

Im undecided on the wheels. My opinion is usually against colored wheels for a daily driver simply because they draw too much attention from the police , even if your doing nothing wrong. Thats where my blah opinion comes from.

^ very true. I just really like the color because it is something different that you don't see every day and I like it.

thats true, u dont see that green on cars, hope you pull it off, post pics of them bad boys when you get them on.

actually there is another member on here that's running that same green color setup and I think it looks pretty cool, however to complete the look I would also have your side view mirrors vinyled in the same green just as an "offset".

Duh Peavey,

if you look at the home page instead of whoring ms3 and new post you would see it!(hand)

Hey Thanks for the heads up, but I was referring to a guy with a MMMMSSSS3 that had it not a P5 (no)

On a black car, they will look great, although I dunno about DD! Rota is just a knock-off designer. If you want the real deal, they would be the Volk TE37s. Rotas still have some quality, but they are heavy compared to super lightweight racing wheels, the real TE37s. I would talk to WheelDude on here about getting them, as he can probably hook you up with a better deal since he is a forum vendor. Good luck

My wheels aren't quite the Takata Green, but:

Other people have used this paint as well and it comes in a variety of colors. Sorry for all the pictures, I just wanted to show you different angles / light. Hope it helps!

wait you essentially spray painted your wheels? that's insane...I also find it insane that they look as good as they do. What a fool i was for pricing powder coating options. seriously though, your wheels look sick.

Is that a huge run I see in the Winter12 pic?

I have 4 cans of this paint in my room. Now I jsut need the motivation to get this started! Also what was the process you took to paint these wheels? help would be appreciated!

4 cans will be plenty. I didn't get back to you sooner.

1 Sand down--just rough them up using around 100 or 150 sandpaper
2 MAKE SURE TO CLEAN THEM REALLY WELL
3 Use playing cards shoved between the wheel and rubber to "mask" them off. I also used newspaper to be sure no paint got on the tire
4 I primered--took 2 cans
5 lay down color--took 3 cans
6 clear is optional (I chose not to clear)
7 make sure they are good and dry before putting back on

\NOTE: The center caps pop out, then the chrome mazda flying m is held in my two tabs. Please take this out and paint the center caps while leaving the chrome 'm'. anything else just looks half-assed IMO

Hope this helps you! Post pics when you are done. I also have some pics of my masking job I will post up in a second.

Yes spray paint after good prep work. It is all about taking time on the prep. Some argue that PCing aluminum risks the structural integrity of the wheel if done incorrectly. After seeing how nice these turned out, I will never think about paying for PC. Also, that is not a run, but water that dripped down (I had just washed the car). After one full winter I thought these would be trashed and need repainted--If you consider their condition 10/10 with fresh paint, I put them at a 9/10 after one winter. So they hold up pretty well and are durable despite the salt, grime, and everything Ohio winter throws at em. Hope this helps!

How long did this take you to do? About how much time should I spend on sanding each wheel and how much sanding should be done? How many layers of paint should be done on each wheel?

If you have no other wheels, your car may be down for a day or two if you work hard.

Sanding/cleaning took maybe an hour per wheel. Just sand until the shine is gone, but make sure you get everywhere
Primer I just went until I used it all up (then let dry overnight)
Color I did 3-4 coats per wheel--starting with a light coat and ending with a fairly thick & heavy wet coat on top that gives it a nice even shine. (let dry overnight, then carefully put on car. I left them off for a few weeks, but had other summer wheels...)
I chose not to use clear coat because I personally can never get clear to look good. I would suggest it for protection though.
