Smell's like a fake carbon

Has anyone question if this is a carbon hood for real. To me it looks like a fake carbon sticker or laminate?????????????????(moon) (scratch)

you can never be sure with a street unit group buy.... that is my only word of warning.

I will say that fiber images is a good company, if that is really who made it, they make decent quality products.

you can never be too sure with street unit ? why's that ? what's ur personal experience with them ?

and its sad, you don't take a members word for it, who invites anyone and everyone in so cal to come check out the hood.

i personally have not had any experience with them, but they did earn a very bad reputation on these forums for shady business deals. There is a reason that you cannot cross post their forum over here. Lets just say, If I was buying this hood, I would feel much more comfortable going through the original manufacturer than street unit.

BIGWOOFER did a similar thing..

My only experience with skeet unit has been a bad one. Ordered CP-E exhaust back in april and they told me on several occasions (over a period of 3 months) it was shipping that day or the following week to their business. I still haven't been charged but if they would have told me it was going to take so long I would have canceled my order and gone with another manufacturer. It was really CP-E that was holding up the order but that was because they didn't have any source for hangers and couldn't ship any exhaust to anyone. Not really anyone's fault but telling my the order is going to be ready when it isn't is just bad.

i personally don't like carbon fiber hoods with black cars, it seems like it almost matches but not quite. i wonder how it would look if you just painted a portion of it.

Umm, where have you been, that's on Page one..

Fitment looks perfect from the pics you have up Cashmere. I think the sides of the cowl would need to be painted, if not the whole hood to look good on any other color though. I'm a domestic guy at heart though, so what do I know.

*raises hand* question! cashmere are you sure that the stock hood weighs 70lbs? my old 240's hood was 80 lbs and the first time i popped my mazda3's hood i clearly noticed at least a 20-25lbs difference...crap, you have a speed3. does anyone know how much the regular 3's hood weighs?!
