What do YOU do about road rage?

Sorry 2 hear that......(shrug) What i hate though, is when ur behind a vehicle in a 2/3lane-freeway and the vehicle in the far left/fast lane is goin so slow and knows there are plenty of vehicles behind waiting for his ass 2 move over.

But as time goes by his ass is still in the left lane traveling slow. (What i do is switch lanes pass his ass up on the right and get back into the left lane and slow down and let my speeds coast/cruise around where im going so slow he's on my ass. Then they finally realize, get mad and move over.................haha son's of bishes(flame2)

When I see road rage, I cry a little on the inside.

But on a side note, a few months ago I had someone cut me off while he was merging into traffic on I-95. The only way I could avoid an accident was to swerve one lane over. The person who wound up behind me in that lane thought I was trying to cut me off sped around me, pulled right in front and slammed on his brakes, all in a Ford Explorer. So, I went into the next lane when I got a bit of room, and just eased off. Didn't try and pass him or anything. Well, he gets it in his mind to let me know how he felt about what he thought was me running him off the road. He rolls down his window and starts screaming and making all kinds of wicked funny gestures at me.

Being the nice guy I am, I smile and wave at him. Apparently, he took this as hostile, so he slows down, pulls behind me and starts tailing me super close. I would normally just give a "brake test", but didn't feel like wrecking my car, so I let him follow me til I get off at my exit. I get off the highway, and he's still following me, right on my ass. After a few turns through town, it's obvious he's following me, so I call a friend who's an officer with Melbourne PD (benefit of the job), and let him know what's going on. He tells me to just let the guy follow me down Babcock St, a fairly major road.

It just so happens that MPD has a large substation on Babcock. I pull into the parking lot next to the station, with strange guy in an SUV closely in tow. I only wish I could have seen his face when I pull my car to a stop directly in between two squad cars, officers with guns unholstered. They had a few words with him, and then made him come over to apologize to me.

I felt undeservedly important, and very glad to have friends in powerful civic-minded jobs.

Recomendation for the brake check/test, use left foot braking, push the throttle down hard and step on the brakes just enough to activate the light, if people are conditioned they'll fall behind.

Or do the same but hit the brakes a bit harder and then let go quick, if someone is tailing you violently, your car fall back for a sencond and then accelerate. Your timing has to be right though. I try to avoid/ignore people if possible.

I have had this happen a few times as have most people and I have no patience for stupidity on the road.

-Pass me or other traffic on the shoulder at >80mph (why??) = 911.
-Try to run me or another driver off the road = 911.
-Swerving around like a drunk = 911.
-Threaten harm to me or my family/possessions = 911.

I drive a lot and I drive responsibly (read attentively but fast) and I have probably called the police on other drivers around 10 times in the past 3 years. I have even watched people get pulled over who I called on. <!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shapetype id="_x0000_t75" coordsize="21600,21600" o:spt="75" o:preferrelative="t" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" filled="f" stroked="f"> <v:stroke joinstyle="miter"/> <v:formulas> <v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"/> </v:formulas> <v:path o:extrusionok="f" gradientshapeok="t" o:connecttype="rect"/> <o:lock v:ext="edit" aspectratio="t"/> </v:shapetype><v:shape id="_x0000_i1025" type="#_x0000_t75" alt="" style='width:12pt; height:12pt'> <v:imagedata src="file:///C:\Users\MYCOMP~1\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtml1\01\clip_image001.gif" o:href="http://www.mazdas247.com:8080/smilies/smile.gif"/> </v:shape><![endif]--><!--[if !vml]-->:)<!--[endif]-->

As has been said; get the plate/driver description, mile-marker/exit/intersection, and call.

Besides, show them the phone and theyll get the hell out of there asap 95% of the time.

I don't know why but it feels like calling mommy

A couple months ago I was going to HIN with 2 freinds in a '00 civic si. Some guy in a new si ('06-'07? still with temp plates) was messing around (swearving, cutting through 3 lanes at a time) for about 4 miles ever since we passed him at a toll booth. They would drive up and try to touch my freinds car with there hand. So my other freind in the car called the cops to report the person as a possible drunk driver, they probobly werent cause there were 4 of them probobly also going to the show. About 2 minuites later we see a Illinois sheriffs car pull right behind them and they were pulled over. You should have seen the drivers face (eekdance), LOL .

Go ahead and call 911...it isn't like we have enough to do as it is...

Just kidding!!! Mazdamia has the right idea. Calling 911 generally is the best course of action. I never get mad at people calling when they actually have good intentions.

How about having a replica police badge and plastering it on your window if anyone gives you attitude? (j/k ;))

Hahaaa thats awesome!

I keep gloves and a bag of poop in my car, whenever someone pisses me off or something dangerous around me, I fling it at them.

You throw gloves at them?

lolm No the gloves are for sanitation purposes, I wouldn't want poop on my P5.

Maybe I should throw the gloves too, kinda like smacking him for a duel!

Ok so who can honestly say they have never cut someone off by mistake either didn't see them or whatever, the fact is it happens ! I know I have done it before and it makes me feel bad . So when someone cuts me or does some other stupid maneuver they probably did see me and didn't do it deliberately. So that is my approach when ever I have to brake or swerve to avoid someone.
For when it becomes obvious that it's intentional I call 911, putting does state patrol troopers to better use then hiding behind bridges with radar guns :)

When someone is tailgating me on a 2 lane road I normally slow down and cruise to below speed limit until they get the hint and then I'll go back to normal speed again.
some people are slow learners (freak) !

I usually just phone the cops and play thier little game untill the cops catch up. One time a lady cut this guy off in front of me. It lookedc at first like the guy was letting her in but then he slams on his brakes and lays on the horn. The lady made a left and the guy followed cutting off two lanes of on comming traffic. I waited for traffic to thin then followed them. I called the cops after about a mile of this rediculousness and kept following while I waited for the cops to catch up. We came to a busy 4way stop and that's when the guy got out of his car with a baseball bat in hand. I grabbed my .38 from my glove box and got out of my car. I shouted to the guy to get back in his car and he turns and yells mind your own ******* business. that's when I showed him my gun. I said again get back in the car. this time he started walking towards me so I pointed the gun at him and said don't even think about it. thankfully the cops arrived and imediatly took control. I wass cuffed at first but eventually they figured out what was going on. He was arrested and was convicted of attempted assult with a deadly weapon

i usually just let them get next to me and blow them a big kiss. usually they dont know what to make of it and drive off, but for that one special person a pack of thumb tacts normally does the trick.

Good thing it was a .38 so you wouldn't kill him
