What did you pay for your CX-5?

Thnx, they never offered me the Mazda one, but a 3rd party one for $1500 for 7yr/70k miles. I declined anyways bc the 2 Mazdas I owned, I haven't reach $1500 in repairs that would have been covered under the extended warranty.

Good thing is that I can cancel the warranty. It would be pro-rated.

I've never owned a Mazda, so that is good to hear.

Just last night I traded in my 2011 RX-8 Sport for a 2014 CX-5 Touring AWD with no additional options.

It was the easiest deal I have made for a vehicle since 2005, and between myself and my sweetie, we have had 14 vehicle transactions in that time span, mostly motorcycles, though.

So the original deal was supposed to be:

CX-5 AWD Touring - Invoice - $26,185
Mazda Loyalty Rebate - $500
Mazda Financing Dealer Cash - $200
value of trade in - $18,500
payoff on trade in - $6,805.62
Dealer fee - $399
With a free clear bra thrown in on the car, because I'm so nice to deal with.

That makes the total financed $14,189.62.

Last night, when I went in to pick up the car, there was an additional $300 bonus cash thrown in because the Denver Auto Show is in town.
I knew the auto show was coming, and was hoping it would be timed well with the car's arrival, and it worked out perfectly.

So, I was expecting to add the extra $300 right on top of everything else, but the dealer balked, and took off the $200 dealer cash.
As I started to protest, the sales manager brought me up to his booth to show me the numbers, and as he was trying to explain why he couldn't give me the $200 Dealer Cash, I noticed that he had increased the value of my trade in to $19,000.

I shut my mouth, and said "You know what? You guys have been great. I'm not going to fret over that last $200. Lets get this deal done right now."
And we did.

So, a 2014 CX-5 AWD Touring, with a clear bra on the front hood:

$26,185
-$500
-$300
-$19,000
+$6,805.62
+399
= $13,589.62

Plus TTL brought the grand total to $14102.16 here in Colorado.
And that's with the 0.9% financing.

I highly recommend Gateway Mazda in Aurora over any of the other dealers.
I have to drive past Sil-TerHar in Broomfield and Mazda of Lakewood to get to them, and I am very happy to do so.
My body will never darken those two dealer's showrooms ever again.

BC.

Almost $3,000 off MSRP before incentives? how?!?! no dealer would be that stupid as they'd be losing money on that deal big time. Make sure it really does have the Tech Package. Sounds more like the pricing for the GT without Tech...

Or it was returned due to financing not going through.
Ask how many miles are on the ODO to make sure you're getting a 'new' car.

I went to the dealer to test drive it. It is indeed a FWD GT with Tech package. They are basically giving the holdback and loosing $800. Going to use the quote and do some more shopping. Will update if what I close with.

Interesting, wonder why take the loss on such a popular vehicle, thats a great price! I would take it before some else gets the deal...

Probably the simple fact of get more exposure to potential future customers through current happy customers.
Or, a sales person has a payment coming up real soon, and they just plain needs a sale.

How hard are you guys finding it to come down to and below invoice? Im having a hard time here in the DC area getting them to come down more than a couple hundred from MSRP.

I have S-plan, but I really thought Id be able to get under invoice considering how inflated invoice price is on this car (ony $800 under msrp)

If you're shopping in Austin, stop what you're doing. I talked with Beasley, got an offer.....still drove 2 hours to get my car elsewhere and saved over $2000.

Anyone in Austin/San Antonio, let me know and we can share referral money.

One of the reasons I went with Beasley is I live in Austin, it is nice to know if there are problems I can take it right back to the dealer where I bought it and I have feeling that the dealership I bought the car from will be more inclined to help if needed then if I bring a car in that I didn't purchase there. You are right there are better deals outside of Austin, Beasley has the Monopoly here on Mazda but the guys I worked with were good people and we will see how they treat me when it is time to bring it in for service.

Yes you did. Welcome to Mazda. This is my 3rd Mazda. You'll enjoy driving it & wonder why you don't mind driving all the time.

Hi Matr6,
I Just found this forum and noticed your posts. I'm in Downers Grove and looking to buy a base grand touring model. I had been pricing a touring only model with the bose/moonroof and the best price I could manage was $26,100 (about $800 below invoice) . You said you got your cousin a touring (presumably without the bose/moonroof) for $26,100 otd. That seems impossible as the bose/moonroof option is only about $1100. Taxes, title, doc fees, etc would amount to more than $2,000. How much was that car below invoice? Do you have a real good contact at Biggers? Thanks, Jerry

Well if anybody is thinking of purchasing a Mazda in BC Canada. I am glad to help with competitive pricing. Just shoot me a private message and I will give you my personal cell phone number.

They got the Touring WITH Bose/moonroof. (EDIT, saw the car today & they got the Bose/Moonroof). It's 26,100 bf TTL.
I responded to your PM. Contact Franco & see what he quotes you.
Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Buggers is ranked 1st in Cust Service for Mazda dealers in IL.
Each dealer has different 'invoice' prices, so I don't go by how much below invoice. Judge by this thread, you'll know what a good price for non-tech GT is. You getting AWD or FWD?

Looking for any helpful feedback.

Initial quote for a 2014 Touring 2WD (moonroof/Bose) is $25,910 + TTL (MSRP $26,540 + TTL); no moonroof/Bose is $24,904 (MSRP $25,410). Of course Mazda loyalty or Armed Services rebates could be applied.

If purchased by the end of this month, it will include an extended warranty 7YR/100K powertrain. My question is what is this worth? Does the new CX-5 really need it - it's nice that it would be included, but should it trump any further price negotiations?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

I already gave you a lead on a much better deal in Central TX. I personally don't think any warranty is worth paying an extra $1500 on your car.

The powertrain warranty is already 5 YR/ 60000 Mi....so the "extension" is not really that extended. When/if cars go bad, you normally don't have to wait 6-7 years to know. By that time, it's more likely that fixes are needed because owners don't care for their vehicles and/or beat their cars daily.
