What did you pay for your CX-5?

Looking for any helpful feedback.

Initial quote for a 2014 Touring 2WD (no packages or dealer installed options) is $25,910 + TTL (MSRP $26,540 + TTL). Of course Mazda loyalty or Armed Services rebates could be applied.

If purchased by the end of this month, it will include an extended warranty 7YR/100K powertrain. My question is what is this worth? Does the new CX-5 really need it - it's nice that it would be included, but should it trump any further price negotiations?

That MSRP of $26,540 is for a fwd touring with the bose and moonroof package. Yes you can do better because I got one with the same MSRP for $25,600 + TTL after a mazda loyalty discount.

I also said no to the extended warranty because I think mazda's reliability is good enough to not need one. In my eyes, it's like getting a warranty for a toyota...you're just not going to use it...

Tell them to take away the cost of the warranty and watch the price significantly drop. Then that would be a pretty good price.

I already gave you a lead on a much better deal in Central TX. I personally don't think any warranty is worth paying an extra $1500 on your car.

The powertrain warranty is already 5 YR/ 60000 Mi....so the "extension" is not really that extended. When/if cars go bad, you normally don't have to wait 6-7 years to know. By that time, it's more likely that fixes are needed because owners don't care for their vehicles and/or beat their cars daily.

Thanks for catching the price discrepancy. I corrected my earlier post. I had quotes for both with and without the moonroof/Bose package.

If only it was so easy to have them remove the warranty. They just will not budge on their price.

That is a great price. I helped my cousin buy an AWD Touring for the same price. The AWD & Bose/moonroof are about the same 1100/1200 option, so that is about right $26,500 OTD.

I Picked up my AWD CX-5 Touring in White Pearl. Only other option was a bumper guard. Sticker was 26,960. Dealer invoice was 26,176. I paid 26,100 and got 1.9 financing for 60 months.

Id love to hear if anyone else got any better in this area, I had to work HARD to get that price, and no other dealers were even willing to get close to invoice (without s-plan) let alone below it.

This forum was a great help to me so I thought I should post. Just picked up a 2014 Touring AWD with Moonroof/Bose package, Homelink and roof rails. MSRP was 28,335 and I paid 27,100...250 under invoice. I could have gotten it for about 250 less if I had checked my email in time to see a competing bid from another dealer...oh well. I kind of already wish I had added the tech package.

We paid $29,194, which is $49 under invoice. We feel that we got a decent price on it and also found the exact color combination that my wife wanted, so we're happy. By the way, this price does not include tax or tag.

Hi all, started getting prices for White GT w/ tech package. So far my town best price was invoice price. Bigger Mazda dealer is only quoting me $36 below invoice. St Louis dealer saying $200 under invoice, $500 for '13'. Will be taking a trip to St Louis tomorrow to compare the 13 and 14 engines and to see if bigger engine is needed.

Hi, I've been reading this thread with much interest as I am looking to hopefully purchase within the week (missed the end of the month/quarter). I have been e-mailing dealers and checking out invoice/MSRP & the lowest I could find for my area (in and around SF Bay Area, CA) was $26,237/$27,230 (AOL Autos) for a 2014 Mazda CX-5 Touring with BOSE/Moonroof+Touring Tech package (Meteor Gray Mica, if that changes anything). I received one quote for $26,432+TTL (estimating tax to be ~2378.88 @ 9%) or ~$28,810.88 after just taxes (estimating up to $500 for everything else but I don't know what else would be tacked on, tbh). I was wondering if anyone could chime in and say whether or not this is a good deal or not. Only one other dealer has come close to that price, but it was still about ~$566 higher.

Also, does anyone have any thoughts on switching up to the GT package? I see a lot of people here opting instead for the GT package and needing to opt for the only [tech] package available, vs. getting two on the Touring trim. Is it possible to get better deals with a GT vs. what I'm assuming is the more popular Touring trim? I know the GT comes with extras that cannot be had with the Touring, but I am leaning towards cloth seating. However, if the price is right and could be had for a little bit more I was thinking it would be worth stretching a bit more to get the GT trim with all the extra features.

Picked up our new 2014 CX-5 GT FWD with Tech for $28,715 plus taxes, title, fees.. So ended up with $30900 OTD, so a few hundred below invoice for the car. Not the best price I have seen but really loving the CX-5.

I'm one who opted for the Touring trim and two packages. I just didn't want the heavier 19" wheels that came standard on the GT. Not only slower in pick-up but more limited tire selection and at a much higher cost. Yes, I could have swapped out wheels with someone who wanted the 19's but I didn't want to hassle with it.

There will be more tires coming out for the 225/55/19 size as it is a new size.
So $3k more for GT gets you leather, dual-zone auto climate control, 19s & advanced smart key.
Dual zone & advanced key are exclusive to the GT so I can understand why ppl don't want to pay +$3k more just to get the advanced key. But all in all, GT w/ Tech is a great value if you wanted all those features.

Agreed w/MATR6, GT gives me premium car luxury in a compact SUV at much lower price than premium brands. Having driven both Touring and GT models, no noticeable or negative impact on performance, ride, handling (same as reported by Car and Driver magazine).

I went to a dealership and they only had a loaded GT to test and test driving a Touring model will be next on my to-do list. Aren't the two tire sizes the same width?

Yes, same width. Only significant difference is the ride is slightly harder over pavement imperfections with the lower profile 19" tires (and the bigger wheels have higher weight/rotational inertia). The 19's might be able to pull slightly more lateral G's on a smooth skidpad but, in the real world, the two different profiles will perform remarkably similar in performance. On rough or broken pavement the taller sidewalls of a 17" tire will actually provide more consistent corner performance that is easier to modulate and control at the limits of lateral traction.

Try finding a gt without tech I was able to get one for way under msrp (relative to everyone else.) Too be fair it was the test driver though with 38 miles on it but I got an outstanding deal from a young 21 year old new salesman. Anyone in the nj tristate area can pm me for his contqxt info the guy is desperate to sell cars and make some money.
