A couple of my friends and I have a 'tradition' of naming cars, or at least GPS devices. It started with my friend's Yellow Volvo 240 DL Sedan (with Chocolate interior, yum!) which was unfathomably called 'Darlene' (most properly pronounced in the boston accent of a middle aged woman who smokes a pack or two a day. Don't ask) that he inherited from his grandfather.
Darlene finally kicked it and my friend, newly equipped with a real job bought a Prius, which was quickly named Sheila. As in 'Sheila the Shocker' due to the fact she's part electric and for the obvious double entendre.
Another of my friend has a GPS nicknamed 'Tokyo Rose' because we don't entirely trust it, and her mom said that's who the voice sounded like.
My GPS is named 'Mustang Sally' because as my friend put it "it's a good song, and she's trying to seduce you".
Now, to my car. I convened my friends shortly after bringing my MS3 home and we quickly started discussing names. Madeline was quickly converged upon, originating from looking at a name that started with 'Ma-' with the hope it would sound nice placed next to 'Mazda'. Madeline, Maddy for short, sounded, to me at least, like a classy gal who might have a bit of a wild side, just like the Speed3.
The end.
Man those are brilliant, why didn't I think of that?i also call him "Harry"...once in awhile
me: yo, ya'll wanna ride my "Harry"
girl: Harry?, who'se Harry ?
me: my "Harry" nuts !
LOL
