what cars can we beat stock, that are stock and that are in our class

I'm not trying to start a war or anything, I just want to know. Are those HP ratings at the wheels or at the crank? And how much did those things weigh, like 3500lbs???

I haven't seen a car sold in the US yet that was rated at anything but the crank. Our beloved protege's claim 130 but put down roughly 94. That's roughly a 27% driveline loss. I would hope that loss is a little lower on the MSP's. Anyone seen a Dyno sheet for a stock MSP.

Hold on while I look up the weight.

3105 lbs for the coupe
3220 lbs for the convertible

Dyno Specs according to SCC magazine shows the MS Pro pushing 151 WHP @ 5800 rpm, and 150 ft/lbs of torque @ 3800 rpm. While Factory shows 170 CHP @ 5500 rpm, and 155 ft/lbs @ 4500 rpm. That's a driveline loss of roughly 11%.

Hell, I'm pretty sure my ES will beat those numbers when we get to the dyno.

the carbed 305 was 190hp crank..not 235.the tbi(throttle body injected)305 was only a little better at 210 or some s***.But hat quadrajet 4barrel carb that came stock was good for gas and WOT,really small primaries, large secondaries.Yes I owned a 1983 z-28 4speed auto.Once I rebiult it with some 350 rv cams and complete valvtrian rebiuld,it pulled much better but still slow. After a new 10 bolt rear w/3.53 gears and a shift kit and flowmaster catback and K&N ring filter it came alive but still a stock 350 tpi(1987-1990)
would kick my ass.Oh and guys you'd be amazed at how well the 3 gens handle with a full hotchkis set up(no coil-overs) the 305 tpi was standard the 1991-1992 z-28 but 240hp 350 was an option Hands down the fastest 3 gen was the IROC-Z 350 TPI 5 speed and the 1LE road racing package(rear disc, steeper rear gears, suspension upgrade)And dont say the Firehawk, since it was tuned elsewhere by SLP and cost like 50g's. sorry back on topic

LOL, 80's camaros...I used to tear those up with a stock 87 crown vic! And it wasn't an interceptor! 150HP 5.slow. 4000 lbs.

Not to sure about a stock MSP can take a Stock Spec-V, I've had both cars and from a dig the spec should own an MSP.

Friend and I have hashed this out pretty well. SpecV's gearing owns it when racing the MSP. My MSP pulled my friend's SpecV. With my friend driving my MSP, and me in the SpecV, the results were the same. That tells me that driver's aside, the SpecV will lose. Now, get it wasn't a blowout, and as such, it is a driver's race. MSP misses a shift or wheel hops too heavily from the line and the SpecV is definitely close enough to take advantage of it.

Both are fun cars for sure. I just wish Nissan hadn't went to that butt ugly grill they use now...

Really i like the 2004 spec that why i bought it, and your friend can't drive, he must of had a 03 and below model.

If my friend can't drive, then I would have beat him with his SpecV when I drove it against HIM in MY MSP. Or didn't you catch that? That's why I said driver aside. We switched cars and ran again. You spend too much time shifting in the SpecV. By the end of the MSP's 2nd gear, it has better than a car length on the Spec. Maybe you don't believe me because it isn't what you want to hear. I can't change the outcome for ya.

The 6 speed also hurts the SpecV in autocross as well. Don't believe me, go ask on a Sentra board. You lose time shifting back and forth between 2nd and 3rd. In all of the autocrosses I have participated in, not a single SpecV has place ahead of the MSP's that were present. Not one. That can't be all driver.

You've been researching on my posts? How do I "keep bumping stuff from like a year ago"? I only replied to this thread once.

Almost all your replies are one liners. Do you have a problem with my replies?

Since this was dug up from the past, Id like to know who gave me a bad reputation mark on 9/9/04 at 2ish AM? THis was from a long time ago. (dunno) why? Ive most definitely stopped posting the way I did back then, plus the comment that was reported was part of a series of other posts that were deleted already, over an argument resovled a long time ago.
