What car did you have at 16?

But look what you have now!

At 16, I had a pair of shoes.

I come from a family unwilling to pay for insurance.
My parents were very similar. I got little help from them at that point in life, but it all worked out. ps at sixteen i was buying my own clothes so i wore some stuff with holes in them! I mentioned earlier that my parents loaned/gave me one their cars. But i was kinda broke so i rode my bicycle mostly. I like your honesty. Ah the good old days

the cars

yes my oldest graduated high school about five years ago and some of the kids had new cars for their sixteenth birthday and he was a more than a little pissed. While alot of kids had just their shoes to get around. It all works out in the end though. All my kids now have some kind of car from working and a little help. My son has an 87 Toyota Supra Turbo(restoring) and a beater 98 integra that runs excellent, My oldest daughter bought a 2006 Si, next kid has a Turbo Volvo wagon with lots of miles, then the little one has a 96 Mitsu gsx, also turbo. They all pay their own way and work. But it does not matter really how they get them i suppose. They enjoy their cars alot, and maintain them. actually they love their cars. Thats what matters to me!

Age: 16..... Bicycle, but a year later I bought a Honda 1978 Twin Star motorcycle that had a whooping 125cc engine.

wonder what my son (toddler) will have when he turns 16. will he have a hand-me-down, something used (strange that it could be a used model from 2018), or something brand new (2023 something-or-other)?

and what will it will run on by then? hmmm.

i hope you meant 1.21, 3.21 is just silly

And how many times have you seen that movie??

So envious about you americans allowed to drive @ 16. here it's 18 for cars and 21 for big rigs and buses.

The last part I might understand though, driving a 15 yard long bus on a 4 yard wide road does take some skill. (There are almost no restriction to where you can drive those huge things here)

My car @16 was 1990 Honda CRX SI. I love that car to dead, even when it burn more OIL then GAS!! LOL I even once fit 5 ADULTS in that car, and we drove from CT to NYC. That was fun!!

'66 Pontiac Tempest 326 ci V-8. Got my first license at 14. I had already been driving for five years or so.

I think 16 is too young anywhere. Most 16yr olds I have met cannot even get up on time to go to school, complete school homework, perform daily chores.... LACK OF MANNERS! Yes, USA will allow them to TRY to be a responsible driver on the Highways. (dunno).
