i have a greddy electronic boost guage but it not working properly so i wanna replace it with a cheap(under 100) mechanical guage. what do u think i should get ? anything other then the autometer ultralite series tho haha. I was looking at the VDOs and they seem to be pretty good and cheap, they are also used on bimmers so im guessing they are of good quality and will match the red msp gauges.

no its ok i want something cheap.. i spent 220 on a greddy electronic and i dont like it.. i just want a good ol reliable mechanical gauge

Uh, autometer? Sorry, I had to. To all those that responded with that: READ HIS POST.

That being said, perhaps you could find a defi d-gauge cheap online of on ebay. I heard that they may be discontinuing the d-gauge line, so maybe you could find a good hook-up.

Here's one for (barely) under $100
ebay link

To be perfectly honest, autometer is the best bet for your money. Sorry, don't hurt me :D

Take a look at Stewart Warner gauges. They actually accurately read boost unlike the piece of s*** Autometers.

IIRC u had Greddy guages too right ? my greddy electronic guage sucks.. the needle keeps vibrating and jumping around... it goes to 2 bars sometimes (boom07)

Damn, I forgot about those. There were a couple posts on the Mazda boards a while back that said that these were the best things since velcro.

That sucks about the D-Gauge line, as that will make every single Defi gauge a data-logging gauge. Lame.

Well, it's just a rumor. As far as I know, it hasn't festered into a fact quite yet.

I'll suggest the Defi D-Gauge as well. I love mine. Very accurate and looks excellent with the stock lighting.

The Stewart Warner gauges are also supposed to be good.

I looked into VDO gauges myself, but as I can recall finding them in imperial units with a white face and either amber or red backlight was just about next to impossible. (of course this was over a year ago, so that might have changed)

Thanks! you always have helpful replies hehe. VDO with white face and red amber backlight is what im looking for exactly but i think im gonna settle for the black face red light VDOs ... 220 dollars on the greddy boost gauge down the drain..
