What are some quick ways to make my MP3 fast?

gsr's run 14's bro
No they don't.
Been to the track many times, watching the average bolt ons GSR's run 15.5's

Even when i used to race, my car was a high 15 at 4psi before I upped the boost and I'd pull even with them...

My brother's CX hatch with a B18B running a 15.2 used to destroy GSR's...

Ahh, the GSR is modded. Well, do yourself a favor and save for a turbo kit. You won't catch it in NA form cheaply or quickly then.

i personally dont know all that much about turbos cuz i am stuck with an auto, so its kinda outta the question...but, i would recommend checking out the forced induction section though, there are a lotta good threads...surverys on who has what, what problems they have had, what extra stuff u might wanna do ( like get a p5 ECU ), how much they cost blah blah...

damn, i wish i could get one...ill just do a manual conversion...then ill get one :D

Sigh...

The cheapest "kit" I've seen was $2,600 and was not intercooled and used a Vortech FMU. From personal experience I would not trust an FMU past 8psi, but that won't be happening anyway on a fs-de block. Not sure how it works for an FS-DE, but you'll need bigger injectors, fuel pump, something else besides an FMU for engine managment, and if you really want to boost, you're going to have to replace the rods with aftermarket ones that can stomach the newly aquired cylinder pressure you'll be making. I'm sure there are a few stock block guys boosting around here, but they won't be doing it for long.

If i was going to go for a turbo kit, I would go with the Hi-Boost kit. Ya its kinda expensive... $4000 and all... But its up to you. I prefer because it comes with a Haltech ECU. Plust its dynoed to get 210 WHP. But newayz just refer to their site. www.hiboost.com

Strip your whole Interior. Then remove your A/C if you can, also Buy some Cams, Cam gear's, and a cat-back Exhaust. That should put you maybe somewhere around him. Not sure if stripping a MP3 would shave .5-1sec off your 1/4mile time. But i think there was a thread about a 91-92 Escort GT with his whole car stripped, and he ran a 15.2 1/4mile time. Not sure if the MP3 would be the same but" maybe you might get lucky"(wink) .

Yeah no spare, no stereo, take of those blinging chrome rims or whatever. or just put a turbo kit in....that works too

that was my friends escort, ya it runs 15.2 on a STOCK motor. its gutted to hell though, one seat, no dash, nothing, just a seat, shifter and steering wheel basically...

One way to do it is to become a better driver than the boyfriend by taking a course (look on SCCA's website for links). Then insist that you "race" on the twistiest track you can find and pass him when he hammers it off the line and puts it in the first ditch you turn against. Also, implying that you don't like him as much when he wins will start shaving valuable tenths off of his lap times, I'm sure. But if you're just straight line dragging, all this becomes moot and I would suggest the Wile E. Coyote dry-fuel rocket booster kit from Acme.
