What are good first mods?

Hey guys I've been around here for a while haven't really posted much. I have had my Black Mica Mazdaspeed since the end of January but now I have some extra money to put into the car. I'm totally new at doing anything to cars, although I have friends that are all into it and what not. Anyways, what are some good mods to start off with? Thanks.

Depends on your goals with the car but I would:

Tint $200ish
Guages + Boost conrtoller
Bodde Gauge rings ($35.00)
Repaint rotors (rusting?)/ Calipers ($10-20)
CAI? $230-250
Turbo Back or Cat back exhaust $600-$1,000

Easy mods I would do 1st:

all cosmetic of course:
Tint
Dave Bodde Rings

Then I would get a boost gauge

4. catback
5. downpipe
6. hi flow cat/test pipe

the sooner the better for a turbo timer also.

Has anyone done a full pressure check on the exhaust system to know which component of the exhaust is causing the most backpressure?? I'm looking for real numbers.

And as for first mod, I would get a boost gauge and whatever style of mounting you want on it. As for looks? plez don't make it too ricey =)

speaking of exhaust systems our cat back section weighs a little shy of 50 lbs and I would buy a boost gauge that reads psi (30hg-15psi)

sounds cheasy but you can find good gauges (boost) in old junk yard porsches and they are perfect for our application
