What are everyone's thoughts on the upcoming MazdaSpeed 6? I think, I like it!

Forgive me if this has been mentioned already but I think the MS6 looks A LOT like the Volvo S40 which comes in a AWD 2.5ltr turbo. Ford does own both companies, hmmmm?

Now, VOLVO - that's a great car company. And; that is certainly an option as a future purchase. The S40 is nice. Although Ford may own both Mazda (or part of Mazda), the quality, and their cars stand on their own. Same with Volvo. Volvo has always been a top notch quality car.

A good point is made, however, about the 'Speed 6 being Mazda's first all-wheel drive car. I won't be ready to buy for another 3 years. So; any bugs will (or should) be worked out. Of course; in 3 years, the MazdaSpeed 6 may be no longer. Who knows...

The 6 isn't based on the 3's chassis, which the S40 of the new generation is based off, as is the Focus. =) So, no, the S40 isn't a 6, but rather a 3. But the 6 surely will translate into SOMEthing in the Volvo/Ford idium. Perhaps, anyway. Maybe the new Tribute will be a cheap XC90, or they'll come out with a Mazda 9 based off of the S80 chassis, or something similar. Who knows! =)

I would trust the Subaru before the Mazda in the case of quality. Suabru has been AWD 4cyl turbo for years and I'm not sure but this may be Mazda's first or at least first U.S. model. I'm guessing that the MS6 will see several revisions after the the '05 model debuts. And those MS6 wheels.... ....my eyes!!!
Mazda was running the 323 in WRC back before Scooby had bight to match it bark...

Um, think more along the lines of Ford 500, or whatever that new car is...

This isn't Mazdas first car with AWD. Remember the Famalia had AWD in Japan for the entire third gen production run people.

Just becuase its new the States, doesn't mean its new to Mazda...

I am willing to wager that this AWD system is something from the parts bin over at Volvo. In which case it is top notch and not cheap ass...But I'm more inclined to believe this car is an all-Mazda affair (as seen by the use of the MZR motor).

This car is a Mazda, and they strive to have zero recalls on their cars. Mazda was pissed with the tribute/Escape launch with three recalls in the first year, meanwhile Ford though it was a success...
