Weird thing I noticed

Hey. You guys are exactly right. I saw a study on this on TV once. What happens for me anyway is that when I get out of the car, my butt slides across the seat. Or it might be something else...don't know. Anyways, ALWAYS ground yourself before you pump gas. I saw a report on TV on one of those news journalism shows about people that do the same exact thing and blow their ass up when they pump gas. Also, they said something about women are more prone to it...don't know how.

Supposedly women are more prone to get back into the car during colder weather than men possibly building up a larger charge.

Year round I get that little shock and all of my friends have noticed it too and fear getting out of my car...I guess I just got used to it though...perhaps just wear a glove when you get out of your car

also the main problem with the fires that can be started from static electricity have to do with after the fire has started. People are so shocked that a fire was lit that they freak out and pull the pump out of the car, sending gas everywhere, resulting in a massive fireball. (which is badass in its own respect) If you just let go of the pump right away, leaving it there, the flame is usually tiny enough and will just die when the lines are shut off.

Might be handy to remember this someday if one were to find themselves in this situation.

ok speaking of this whole static electricity and starting fires thing, did anybody see "myth busters" on the discovery channel when they tested this idea? i missed it....

i think its natural.....caz it happens to me in ANY car

i turn the car off and open the door and shut it and get a little zap

ive gotten used to it so it really dosent bother me much

WTF ! I thought it was just me !Mine does not do it all the time but when it does it KICKS THE HELL OUT OF ME ! ! ! I always say Mother F--ker ! piece of s***.
