I have an 09 started it up today went for a drive and came home let it sit for awhile. I popped the hood and unplugged the negative terminal and took off my top mount and I was cleaning my valve cover and tightening my intake couplers, just like checking and cleaning everything. I put everything back on (really just the top mount) and connected the battery, and then tried to start it nothing.

On the dash nothing lights up except my door light and i have a red car with a key that flashes. No radio lights come on. Nothing. I hit the ac buttons and the ac turns on.. I have no idea what the hell happened. I took the top mount off and check the wires everything seems fine. I dont believe any clips came un-done but it just doesnt make sense.

Will check the fuses, called the dealer they said it might be a security thing with the key? I tried both of them, they both unlock, and lock the door, but both wont start it.

check s connector to starter, only male connector you can see from underneath, been loose and coroded, clean it, tighten the connection, slide it on.
This connection tells the starter the clutch is in in essence.

Is the security light staying on or flashing when you try to start the car. that will tell you if it is the problem......but i agree with checking fuses and battery connections............

First thing to do whenever you have an electrical issue: check fuses.

This is untrue.... first check the battery and make sure all 6 cells have about 2 volts in them... always start there, then fuses!

Its easier to just check the fuses.....what if he doesn't have the means to check the individual cells.........

I had this same problem and there is actually a TSB for it. Find a copy of that TSB and take it to the dealer.

I had this problem 2 weeks ago and it was my connector to starter that was coroded.. I changed it for a new one and now it start like a champ!
