Weird Missfire Problem

I changed both of my ignition coils out today. Took it for a drive afterwards and i get a horrible missfire. I thought it maybe was the coils so I put the old ones back and still same missfire. No CEL, so i dont know what cylinder it is. changed my sparkplugs out a couple of months ago. just trying to get some idea of what to try next? thanks in advance for the help

just to give an update and clarification. I've replaced the wires and coils, didnt change the plugs because i changed them not to long ago. but the problem still exists, and its more of a fast stuttering. When the car is cold, or has been sitting for a couple of hours it runs fine, goes all the way thru the rpm range with no problem. But once it warms up it starts, but only after about 4 psi. what could have caused this, i thought replacing the coils would only improve my performance, not cause problems. I'm really stumped on what could be causing the problem (uhm)...PLEASE HELP

No I think its in the ignition system somewhere. I'll try replacing my spark plugs today and see if that cures it. If not i'm out of things to try!

Update! Finally got a CEL on the way in to work this morning. P0302 misfire cylinder 2. So now I can go to the process of elimination to figure out what it is. Since coils and wires are new, it should be my plugs or maybe the injector. I don't think I've ever been happy to see the CEL turn on!

Dude, any luck? I'm in the same situation. I'm having little sputters also. It's not always, but I'll normally
Get the sputters after a cold start. I hate hearing it! I replaced all sparks with NGK, NGK blue wires, and
replaced the coils last week after the car litterally chocked and wouldn't run right.

I do have an EGR issue. I took it apart and cleaned her right up. I'm still having idling issues!
I'm wondering if I should buy a new EGR. I can't think of anything else as to why I'm dealing with this
All the time.

As soon as my EGR started acting up, I was getting miss fires. I replace everything except for that and
I still have a CEL on. Anyone else have thoughts to an idiling sensor or something else that I'm missing?

Update 2!! I switched the position of the two coils at lunchtime. I got a CEL on the way home. I got it read at the local autozone, and its P0304 misfire cylinder 4. So I guess this points to the coil being bad. What i need to know is facing the engine, from passenger side to driver side what is the order of the cylinders. I'm pretty sure its 1-2-3-4, but please someone correct me if i'm wrong. If I am correct then that means the coil I bought was bad? I plan to replace it with an oem one from ************* or rockauto. But clarification on the cylinder order would be greatly appreciated.

Its running right again! It was a combination of 2 things. the main thing was the Autozone coil. I had to take it apart to make sure the resistor spring inside was correctly seated and extended enough so that it made good contact with the plug. the second thing i did for good measure was regap the plugs. they were all between .031-.036. So she runs like a champ now!

i think that might be my prob, i got colder plugs the other day and tried to take the coils off and the boot was still stuck in the head!! i tried to get it out but couldnt, and noticed a spring that i pulled out. so my question is, how do correctly seat and extend the spring?
NOTE: i didnt know what that spring was for so i just dropped it bak in there

Just make sure that it sits well against the lead in the coil. To make sure of this, i sat the spring in the coil first then pushed the boot down on top of it. As for extending it, Just pull slightly on one of the looser coiled ends of the spring.
