I am looking at reducing the weight of my car and I'm wondering what the point is of the sticky tar stuff on the body under the carpet and trunk pad? If you have any other idea's on how to reduce the weight of the car bring the forth. Please do not waste your time listing things like wheels and CF hoods AC. I'm talking about the little things.

remove the rear seltbelts, seats, speakers, spare tire, jack, A/C unit, powersteering pump, headlights and roof.

RAM AIR!!!

i dont think its going to be worth your time or effort unless you are very serious on making a uncomfortable race car.

so just stick with the easy things to remove for when you dont want them, seats, headrests, spare, jack. everything else isnt worth the time or inconveniance.

haha, yah remove spare tire, thats all i can think of, other things wont make that much of a difference. - chris

to hell with the weight reduction man, go FORCED INDUCTION!!! youll do a lot better that way, trust me...then you can still pack you and your 4 friends along with ya =0) hehehe, just my thoughts

anything sound related - speakers etc...esp subs...that's a fair bit of weight...but yeah, rear seats and the like. for racing i take the entire inside of the rear out up to the passenger seat, so it's only me and my seat in the car (basically). certainly helps

Easiest way to lower the weight of the car - usually would be for the driver to lose a few pounds. Since April 1st - I have lost 32 lbs.

Thats a good one!
Damn I'm pushin bout 230 thats holding me back on the strip
but I cant lose. If I try to lose I just gain more muscle and stay the same weight

Damn, 230lbs - Unless you are 6'9" that isn't all Muscle. That's according to the BMI index though - so realistically, if you are over 6'2" - you are probably alright.
