The label inside the door frame on the driverside will give u the weights (front end, rear end, overall) for ur specific car. Mine shows like 3660 if i remember correctly. I have an automatic tranny though. Ive been told that a manual transmission is usually about 100 lbs lighter.
that 3660 is the gross vehicle weight... it's the maximum amount your car can weigh and still be safe. so the car is ~2700. the car can then carry about 960 pounds. i think that's what it means. anyone care to clarify?
The gross weight of the vehicle is the weight of only the car when all 4 wheels are placed on the scale. The other 2 weights listed on the label are the weights for just the front 2 wheels n just the 2 rear wheels. I just looked at my label n it does say 3664 LBS GVWR, 1955 LBS GAWR Fnt, and 1720 LBS GAWR Rr.
"Curb weight: weight without passengers, driver and cargo but including standard equipment, fluid, fuel or any equipment for the vehicle to run smoothly. "
"Gross Weight - curb weight plus maximum load the vehicle is designed to take. "
