We Got Our Recall !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got my notice today too. So does anyone know if the dealer will still inspect and repair this if you've modified the engine at all? I know they're extremely picky about that, and the only thing I have to worry about is a short ram intake. Should it put the stock plastic box back on or just take it the way it is?
Yes. Dealerships love to not help. Go stock, it couldn't hurt. (shrug)

well Im sitting in front of my computer right now and my mother says: "hey listen, I have this letter from MAZDA for like 3 days in my room and forgot to show it to you, what is that?" WELL NO s***! its the recall letter. I got it in my hands, now I just gotta make an appointment to get it checked again.

Can somebody PDF the letter so I can print it?

You would be my hero and have eternal gratitude.
I wonder who has PDF writer. That s*** is so ******* expensive. Few thousands bucks i think.

Keep in mind, each person's letter contains their own vehicle's VIN.

Ok, so there is conflicting information about which system this affects. Some say VTCS, some say VICS, and some say both. If anyone actually knows what system(s) the recall is for, please let me know.

And for those of you who the recall does not affect, don't worry about it. It would only take a few hours to pull out the manifold on your own and loctite the necessary screws. There are how-to's that will help you with this.

release dates of Protege's from march 3rd 2003 to July 31st 2003 are affected by this recall.

No, I meant was there anyone like Mazdamia who had this problem and had a car that was manufactured outside the recall dates?

To write PDFs, try OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org). Free, and you can save documents to PDF. I use it whenever a professor wants an electronic copy of a paper instead of giving them the .odt (OpenDocument) file since a lot of people's computers don't have software to view .odt

christ all mighty!!! People need to get their story straight. It IS ViCS! It always has been ViCS issue. Who the hell still thinks/says its VTCS?!?!?!?!

because your post is irrelevant and ignorant to the whole problem and you should get your story straight.

in the letter MAZDA U.S.A. is referring to the ViCS AND NOT VTCS system.

if you have pictures of lose screws and butterflies from VTCS ONLY THEN I will believe that VTCS is also ****** up. Otherwise, get your story straight man. Ever since this problem started occuring (for the past 2 years) I haven't heard ANY relevant problems to screw failure on VTCS as on ViCS. The only problem that VTCS causes is retarded air restriction and that is all.

actually, it seems you're too arrogant in reading the DEALER letter that I've found AND posted which CLEARLY states "variable tumble control valves" and its inspection and screw replacement

just because you read the OWNER letter which everyone affected got, doesn't mean you know the specifics of this recall
