We got it today!!! 2007 M5 GT Manual Leather

Hey thanks for pics Philster! Agreed the leathers looks nicer on your pics, though i'm still not sure about the brown lol. Anyway I have 4 years to go with mine so in 4 years they probably offer more colors and pleeeease Mazda, a turbo.

Nice car. Everytime I see one I still find it quite nice. I can't keep starring at them lol.

Looks good!

It's here!! Took delivery of a silver GT Leather Trim with MP3 changer today! The leather is actually quiet nice.. don't judge it by pictures you may see on the net. Most pictures I've seen so far are way over-exposed and don't do justice to the overall look of the interior..

I've done my best with these: http://picasaweb.google.com/faubry.photo/Mazda52007GTLeatherTrim?authkey=IG9wf1fpuxct-2H1nOkL6jwC1Tc

The colour may appear red on one or two shots but it's actually dark brown. Drove the car from Montral to Ottawa today (200km), very smooth ride! My only complaint so far (aside from the obvious: passenger armrest, 5 speed AT etc.) is the heated seats.. well, they don't heat that much. In fact I may be doing something wrong because they don't seem to heat at all.. I'll have to look into it tomorrow.

Let me know if you have any questions on the leather package or require more specific pictures!

Phil

Great shots...now I can see the color of the leather better....it's pretty nice! The heated seats won't feel thet warm because of the temperature in the vehicle.....it senses the temp and adjusts automatically....at least that's how mine works in my RX 8. Enjoy your ride!!

Clash? Clash? I loved that band ;-)

No offense...but that leather clashes.

No offense taken. It does kinda clash.

But the odd thing is them brown, red, things do seem to change color depending on lighting, or mood. Wierd.

I tell you what though. When you sit in them, it feels much better than the 3 non leather demos i drove.

So if anybody is on the fence about it, go for it. I love them now. I am still blown away about how nice the car, I mean minivan, feels considering I payed $25K for it. It feels like at least like a $35K ride.

The other 2 rides I was considering were over $50K, Jeep Commander, Nissan Pathfinder.

My brother told me to at least look at the Mazda 5. I laughed at him, until I drove the damn thing. It drives amazing!!! Those 2 boats drove worse than the Dodge Caravan I had to put to sleep.

And as far as clashing, well I'll just have to load up my Clash London Calling CD and (drive2)

Thanks Cruzdreamer. You're right! the seats were heating just fine this morning, with 12 degrees outside! The manual says they are controlled by thermostat. I suppose the it takes a reading of the temp inside the vehicle.

THIS CAR IS AWSOME!! Can't get enough of it so far!!
Next purchase: tinted windows (any suggestions?), winter floor mats and of course winter tires and rims.

Philster...Gotta get the tinted windows for sure. Also, I have Dunlops for my winter tires and they are great. In my 8 it's like night and day...winter tires make a huge difference! Can't wait to see with the tint! It's fun customizing it, huh!? Anyone put in a dash kit with grey burl wood look or carbon fiber? I think it would be cool! If I get one I want...tint, leather, dash kit, striping of some sort...simple with Mazda 5 wording at end. Would love the DVD system in it too. It's the 5 or the CX 7....to be determined by hubby. Both are great vehicles...the 5 is the best for the money out there! Zoom, Zoom!

do you mean the floor mats? those are black..

Black or brown, I like them. I actually negotiated with my dealer to include the all-weather floor mats on delivery (they wouldn't budge much on the price), so I can share some pictures of those when I get my car.

Funny, but my aftermarket leather looks more "OEM" than Mazda's: IMG_0413.webp

Yeah turbotaz, I agree, that leather is definately spot on! I love it. I'd appreciate further details on that, too.

BTW, welcome :)

Brown leather????

(omg) That espresso brown leather does look different in different shades of light. They certainly are copying the leather trends of sports cars. But my wife wishes she was sitting in that board meeting when they decided not to offer black, tan, or gray leather. What up?

Thanks for posting these pics. I have been scouring the net trying to find more pics of the leather. I've been offered the 2006 model with after-market leather or I can wait for the 2007 with brown leather....decisions, decisions.....

Cheers!

I guess it may come down to where you live.. up here in Canada, the heated seet option is a taker.. leather seats or not!

My problem with leather isn't heating it, it's cooling the mo-fo when your bare legs touches it on a 90* afternoon, yike!

Well if the heated seats are not critical, then I'd opt for the aftermarket leather because you can choose you colors you like and have it be two tone like the fabric version or as in the pics above. Looks way better IMHO. The brown is just the wrong shade. If it looked more similar to the Mazda RX8 or MX5's brown then it would have been much nicer. Its almost too close to the black yet its not black. Also if you get a color other than white, silver, or black, you can also opt for the two tone leather to match your paint such as red or blue

Man this IS AWESOME! Send this to Mazda right freaking now to show them what they should have done . Those are damn nice. Far much better than brown IMO. If my Mazda was bought, not leased, I'd seriously think about it...

How much did this cost you? This for all 3 rows + doors inserts, right?
