water temp gauge?

how do you install this? anyone got first hand eperience installing one? everytime i post this question up it gets deleted off the forum, why???? if you could, post pics too hehehehe

i installed an Autometer water temp guage in my p5 too....i didnt want a dead factory guage so i tried splicing into that one but it wasnt working....so i took the part on the side of the motor where the factory sending unit is off and had a small piece os aluminium welded to to and then drilled it out and tapped it the the correct thread...i rand my wire along some factory ones and you can't even tell anything has been done(looks totally stock).
I was lucky and the weld didn't leak..hope this helps a little

you are the man, thats exactly what i was going to do, except, i was just gonna drill next to the stock sensor, maybe right behind it or something, you got any pics man??? thanks for the post though, thought no one else did this

actually i was just going to drill it out myself but when i took it off i didn't think the metal was thick enough to get some good thread in it....if you look at the factory sending unit you can see it is almost an a little block on the edge of the pipe.....i dont have any pics but if i can get ahold of a digi cam i will post one for ya
