After detailing my ~3 months old 2008.5 MS3 car I noticed water spots on most of the glass that did not come off with Windex. The dealer said to bring it in and if they can not remove the spots that they will replace the glass under warranty. Anyone else have water spot problems ?

i cant see how water spots will be a warranty issue. its cool that they will replace it though.

Dont use windex. try wiping the window down with a 1:1 vinegar/water mixture. This should remove the marks.

as far as a good automotive glass cleaner, ive had good results with Stoners Invisible Glass.

Yeah - a huge thumbs up to Stoner's (after you get your water spot issued resolved).

I had the same problem but was quite sure it was the car soap I was using or my water source. Apparently I was waiting too long to dry even though I thought I had rinsed thoroughly. Could have been hard water too. I scrubbed all the glass with Dawn/water and it worked like a charm. Nothing else would cut the spots. Eagle One product support recommended this. Hope this helps and good luck.

automotive paint polish and foam pad or microfiber towel will get those off too. Over the counter products like meguire's cleaner/polish or swirl remover, Mother's power polish, nu finish, scratch X. all these these things will probably get those spots off AND make your glass super clean and smooth.

and yeah Stoners is great window cleaner.

It is warranty as the water spots have actually etched into the glass. I suspect the dealer will try glass polish first...I hope that works as having new glass installed will take a day or more with me having to drive a loaner car of some sort...

The damn dealer left my car out in the sun and rain for months without washing it. I got the spots off the windshield and windows with Ice's liquid clay bar.

Could be acid rain I work at a car dealership and we see this all the time try a clay bar it should get it off.

0000 steel wool and some elbow grease ! (yes)

I've had nasty water spottage, especially on the windshield, since I bought my MS3 in September. Maybe if I washed it...

That, and I noticed that this car seems to have a serious early morning foggy windshield issue. (FL weather, chilly, but not freezing)

I swear by ACE Waterspot Remover (can find at Walmart for about $11/bottle). My mirrors were spotted pretty bad...this stuff takes ALL waterspots off with minimum elbow grease. Just be sure to rinse after!
This stuff is the s**t!
