Water Leakage

Just wondering has anyone noticed that every time it rains or when the car is washed that the inside of the door stays wet for a day or two. When you do the windows down for the first couple of days they get wet from the inside of the door. This area should not be getting wet at ALL. I own a 12 year old Cavalier that is sealed better then the M3's doors. This happens on all four of the doors. Anyone encountered this issue???????????

Please let me know because at this rate the inside bottom of the doors will be rotten in no time!!! (yupnope)

Thanks that makes me feel a little better, the whole water thing is not a huge issue but lets see the effects in a few years.

Hey man,
I don't get the water leakage inside the door and on the window like that, but I have been noticing that I have a leak in my trunk!!! It tends to be towards the driver side and it gets the carpet back there pretty wet. Just wondering if anyone else was having this problem also??? I'm taking it to the dealer and tearing some new assholes this weekend. My car just turned over 20k and this shouldn't be happening no matter how new or old the car is.

On sedans, there's a rubber conduit running between the trunk gutter and the trunk lid..I've noticed that this conduit often comes loose from the trunk gutter, and when water runs into the gutter, it goes straight into the trunk. Make sure the conduit is firmly seated in the opening.

Thanks for the info, but i'm not talking about the trunk. What i mean is when it rains or after i wash my car, water seems to be going into the door frams on all 4 doors, so when ever i do down the windows they will get wet!! The water seems to stay inside the doors for at least a day or two.

The problem is not water inside the doors, per se. It's just water on the little felt seal that contacts the window. It could be either soaking into it or retaining it some other way.
Personally, I haven't noticed the problem being that bad. mine usually dries out overnight.

Glad I could be of service.

Oh, and welcome to the board. :D
