Water in the Trunk?

:
Lancer Ralliart Sportback
Huh! I noticed a puddle of water in the little well on the rear/drivers side of the trunk. The car had been parked pointing uphill for a week while i was on vacation. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a drain hole i need to clear?

Thanks!(poke)

Don't think there is any opening to allow for that just a plug to keep s*** out. Might wanna check around to see where else it may have come in from. There's an opening up higher with a flap to allow air out but nothing to do with drainage......

Same Problem....

Yeah, I got that this last month real bad.....Rain for like 28 days straight, on about day 20, I notice the back seats are wet....WTF... really wet...WTF... (scratch) I go into the back and the whole trunk mat is wet...WTF....I rip it off and the whole tire well is FULL of water....WTF!!!!!!.... Both side wells are also full, pulled the plugs wiped up the rest with towels and cussed my way to work....So eight more days of waking up and draining an inch or so out of the wheel well....and now I'm too f'n pissed to even want to take care of it... (argh)

I did some searching and found some MSP guys talking about the same deal....Most of them had a leak around their rear lights, which were aftermarket. They fixed it with silicone most of the time...I had some rear quarter-panel damage and the seal may not be perfect, so I'm thinking that is my problem. I'll start with silicone around the rear light seals and go from there. (dunno)

Also they had thoughts and some found the air vents, which let the trunk "breathe", may screw up and stay open too much, letting water in...

OMG, this is ironic, I JUST fixed this problem. As prototype5 said, the problem is right by the lights. If anyone has replaced the lightbulbs, they may have broken a plastic guide piece on the back of the tail light housing.

Also, check on the paint line right by the tail lights- it's where they connected the two metal parts of the frame. On my car, right by the rubber tunk seal, where those metal parts connected, there was a small 1 inch crack in the paint. The small crack was on both the right and left side of the rubber trunk seal. After sealing those up I've had no leakage problems.
