Wastegate Problem ?

Hey folks, I have a massive air leak most likely due to the wastegate. I have previously convinced myself it was a major boost leak but I can't find a leak anywhere.

Its soo bad I don't even want to crossover in to the boost part of my gauge, my 03.5 will usually slow down waiting for the boost to come thru (but never does) and my gauge will climb like crazy to max 12PSI then fall like crazy to like 5PSI or the car it self would shudder

Best way for me to boost right now is to slowly cross into boost max at 3PSI or else the car will just spool like crazy and no pull.

Whats the best way to diagnose this myself?

Check all you piping from the turbo to the intake. If you still using the stock plastic piping there's a good possibility that its cracked.

most definitely sounds like a boost leak. you should get a tester (google boost leak tester) and check all your piping. i will be doing this myself shortly, and a smoke test on the intake manifold to make sure everything is tight. i've been experiencing some weird things lately

Take vac line off that goes to waste gate, blow into it... If air passes threw its waste gate... If I won't pass then look elsewhere

More than likely its the wga all I know the stock ones don't last that's the first thing I changed when I got my pro

Sounds like a bad wastegate. Test it by blowing into the line that t's in with the bpv.
Also i suggest taking all of the stock piping and inspect them for cracks.

Hey folks, I checked for leaks everywhere a couple months ago, didn't find any and had a shop do it as well they couldn't find it. I am confident that its the wastegate.
I like 2003.5_MSP's idea with the vac line, I do have a air compressor with a gauge on it I will do that, and then I do have a home depot made boost leak tester, ill do that 2nd !
Hate to work on my car in this cold ass weather

If you use a compressor it will tear the diaphragm if its not already... You have to use your lungs so to speak and blow in the vac line that way... If you have a home made vac tester, connect that to the line and test...
Good luck man, I hate having something wrong it bugs me
