Washer Fluid Nozzle - Rear

My rear washer fluid nozzle isn't working. I'm guessing it's clogged since the front nozzles work. I'm gonna try and put an additive in my washer fluid reservoir. If that doesn't work I'll just try and poke it with a needle.

Any other reason why it isn't working?

It takes like 20secs for mine holding the switch down... till it comes out... Not really sure good luck on trying to fix it.... Keep it posted on whats wrong, bet I'll run into the same problem down the road.

Also Removing the rear washer nozzle might be an idea to see whats up

REAR WASHER NOZZLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the rear spoiler. (See 09168 REAR SPOILER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the rear washer hose from the rear washer nozzle.
4. Compress the hooks of the rear washer nozzle.
5. Pull the rear washer nozzle out to remove it.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
7. Adjust the rear washer nozzle. (See 091915
REAR WASHER NOZZLE ADJUSTMENT.)

I had the same problem. Had the rear washer pump warrantied. Works like a charm now.

Where is the rear washer pump at?

Under the rear spoiler. There are two nozzles located there.

Matt

The rear washer pump is not under the rear spoiler. It's atatched to the washer fluid reservior, inside the right front bumper cover.

Thank you...and you are correct! Don't waste your time tearing apart the rear spoiler. Try the pump first.

Well my front washers work, do the all the nozzles work off the same pump? If so I am going to try the poke method mentioned(yes)

I'm certain the rear has it's own dedicated pump that is attached to the same bottle. I could get the fronts to work fine when the rear failed and the dealership indicated that the rear pump failed. Diagram of where the pumps location is can be seen below

Well it looks like there are two pumps attacked to the front washer bottle. One does the front and one does the rear. It also looks like they are identical pumps. I guess I will take care of this, but a lil later. Thanks guys.

A pinched or leaky line can look like a bad pump, so before replacing the pump do a couple of quick tests to determine which is really your problem.

Get a big syringe or squeeze bottle (like for ketchup or mustard, but clean of course) and verify that water can be forced through the line all the way to the back nozzle, and that once the line is full more or less the same amount comes out as goes in.

Also hook up a bit of clean tube to the suspect pump and run the "rear washer".
