What do you guys use to wash/wax your cars? I was looking in the Detailing section and there were quite a few sites for products. What do you guys recommend? I don't have anything at the moment, so would it be best to just start off with purchasing a kit? Thanks in advance!

NOTHING is superior to Griots Garage, it is ferraris recomended product. You can read the reviews. But i used it and have found nothing works better, and I wash and wax alot

i like mothers products, and in between major waxing i do the detailer mist (love the smell)

for the tires i use this purple stuff (don't remember what it's called) and an applicator that has a shape to fit around the tire. it's a gel, not a spray or foam

the wheels on the speed have a tsb out that says not to use certain wheel cleaners on it...can't remember what it is but can't use anything too abbrasive

i love rainx. lately ive been using the additive to the washer tank.
ive had good results with meguairs gold car wash and NXT wax

I have use P21S and thought it was pretty good stuff. I am using Mothers 3 step wax right now and I think it is great. The best stuff that I have used hands down is Malm's. I have also used the Griot's garage, but I did not care for it. If you are using the clay bar with the speed shine and then applying Griot's wax, yeah it is good stuff. If you are just straight waxing, I feel like there are better products out there. The only other stuff I like out of Griot's is the Spray nozzle and the Wheel Cleaner. Everything else seems overpriced to me.

I just bought a basic kit from Zaino (clay bar, Z2 polish w/ polish activator, and quick detailer). It was expensive but I've heard a lot of good things so I figured I'd give it a whirl. Unfortunately I haven't had a weekend yet where the weather was nice enough, so when that happens I will update with the results.

from what i've heard, Zaino is the way to go. I will be picking up a kit one of this days. I used to use the Mothers 3 step wax on my old car, but i am going to give zaino a try.

In reality if you use products CORRECTLY, and spend the time to do a good job waxing/detailing the car, most all products will give you a finish you will be happy with. Everyone uses something different and thinks their product is the best. Do what all of us have done, buy alot of products at different times and see what works best for you.

There really is no way to give an answer as to what is the BEST, its all personal preference

I've got the Zaino kit, I put on two coats of Z5 and it lasted forever, I'm really happy with the product. One of these days I'll do the Z5/Z2 buildup

i've heard great things about zaino too. i've personally only used mothers and meguiers, which are awesome. they're readily available and inexpensive too. you can't go wrong with either meguiers or mothers but i personally like mothers better. wolfgang or zaino if you wanna spend a little more.

everything that has been said has been said lol.

if your not looking to go the online route, megs nxt 2.0 is a agreat over the counter wax.

if you choose to go online theres more options than youll be able to comprehend. synthetics, carnubas, sealants. so many different brands and companies.

zaino is a great product line, and you will be very please with the results

+1. most people go with synthetics because they're easier but they don't last as long as carnubas in most cases. try some nice nxt or mothers reflections and call it a day. :)

you should also get foam applicators and a polishing cloth. autozone usually carries mothers foam apps and polishing cloths. have fun, it's gonna take a while.

i still haven't waxed my car yet. :(

although i would recommend not getting your microfibers at autozone. get some real plush quality ones at one of those websites. cheap ones will tend to marr your paint much easier, and youll have a swirled finish in no time

i usually agree but mothers is a quality company. i was recommending mothers cloths and applicators.

i usually do get either meguiers, mothers or blue viking microfiber drying towels. all of which can be found a auto zone... they seem to work fine. i buy those because i usually buy a new towel every couple times i wash my car. i'm scared to wash the towels and get the wrong chemicals on them or not being able to get all of the dirt out and marr my paint.

oh ok. yeah i use the mothers and meguiars cloths myself as well.

my best friend made the mistake of buying the cheap autozone brand cloths and it messed up his paint badly.

Wow I didn't know there were so many different products available lol. It's been awhile since I've washed my own vehicle, so maybe I'll just start off by visiting my local AutoZone.
