I Bought my msp used so my father insisted that i buy a warrenty, so i did. now the time has come where i need to use the warrenty for the klunk(whole rear suspesnion). But the problem is if the parts arent under warrenty work i will have to pay 150 for them just to look at my car. Anyone have any other ideas of what they could look at while the car is there that will be under warrenty? i mean i minus well have them take a look at everything if i end up paying the 150 bucks.
Easy CareWarrenty

How many miles are on the car? It may still be under factory warranty.

Found an old post I made last summer
-----

Here's the full part number and pic of the new rear sway bar bushings ending in 156E. Hopefully I'll have time tonight or tomorrow to install them and let everyone know how easy/hard they are to do yourself. I was quoted 3 different prices ranging from $11.88 - $14.50 each bushing.

EDIT - I replaced the bushing myself last night. Fairly easy process. You only need to:

1) Raise the car on jackstand - If you don't you will not be able to access the bolt on the front side.

2) Take your 14mm Socket wrench and undo the 2 bolts holding in each bushing mounting bracket.

3) Slide off the mounting hardware and remove bushing.

4) Put new bushing on bar.

5) Put mounting piece back on bushing and position correctly.

6) Reattch the 2 bolts for each mounting piece.

7) Lower you car back down and go for a test drive.

i know i could fix it but the point is i bought this stupid warrenty i should use it if i am paying for it. i wonder if i could sell my warrenty back? i dont want the stupid thing i have parts sitting in my closet wating to get installed but i cant b/c of this freaking warrenty.
thanks for the info

Good luck selling the warrenty back, I don't think that is an option. But fixing the rear bushings is an easy fix that only costs about $30 and about 1 hour of your time. Definatly a better deal to do it yourself than pay $150 for them to just look at it.

I thought the factory warranty was good up to 36,000 miles, take it into Faulkner Mazda, those guys are usually pretty cool about warranty work.

yea maybe i will check them out tomorrow. i think its more then my bushings also i think i broke a weld on my sway bar.

Factory Warranty is 5yrs 48,000 miles or until you change your headlamp bulbs. Then it's gone.

I work for an auto finance company and you can cancel your warranty most of the time, but most of the time the refunded amount will go towards your principal balance owed on the vehicle...

thanks for reminding me i have almost 30K on my car and i have the rear clunk and the front squeek back foir the second time on E series bushings!!

I hate this s*** sometimes!

Where is the DIY for the rear. all that was was the Front and are there any pics of the area in which is reffered?

Factory warranty on all 2003 Mazda's that I have seen is 4 years, 50,000 miles. So to the original poster, the car is still under factory warranty so take it in there and they HAVE TO do the work for free to you. That warranty was part of the original selling price of the vehicle.

lol @ girth..."have to do the work for free"...lol

If they decide there was nothing wrong, then you will be paying for it, unless they feel like being nice.

Well yes I realize that. Of course they will not do the work if they don't agree that the problem exists. Hence all the negative posts about Mazda dealers and their bad techs!(laugh)

Yeah I hear ya on that!!!!.................hey...
