warranty ran out, time to mod

Where do I start. I don't really need more power. The car is realy just our daily driver/grocery getter. I wouldn't mind some suspension mods to dial out the horrible understeer. I also hate the way the engine flops around on hard acceleration. I think I need the rear mount. Other than that I like the MS6 but I'm not looking to dump money into it. That's why I bought a performance sedan, so that it would have everything already included, rather than starting off with a econobox and trying to make it beat a Ferrari, lol.

rear mount ftw!

+1 on this. The rear engine mount made this car feel like a completely different automobile. First gear is now a useable gear. You don't have to be concerned that the engine is going to flop out from under the hood anymore once installed.

I saw this thread but was interested in feedback from the people that have used these items now that our cars are a bit older. I stopped modding cars a long time ago because for what you pay most items don't yield big enough results. I for got to mention, what about a better feeling shifter. I like the throw of the stocker but I hate the floppy feel of the bushings

These cars have a cable shifter. The only bushings are the ones for the shifter mount plate under the shift boot. TWM sells replacement metal bushings that slip right in. I can highly recommend their Stage 2 short shifter as well. If you like the stocker you will love this one. If you want to retain the stock height but with shorter throws get their Stage 1.

For handling you should get springs made for the car. Since this is your daily, I would recommend a set of RPMs (can't recall which has the lesser drop, Sport or Street). I got one of their last sets of pre-production springs which have the lesser drop. Won't kill your stock struts but vastly improves handling. The Whiteline rear sway bar also improves things, install is a bit of a pain but the results are worth it. A set of SPC adjustable front ball joints allows you to get a good alignment, the car will feel like it shed several hundred pounds.

There are a lot of (relatively) inexpensive mods you can do that will improve the car without taking away reliability. If you are on a budget keep your eyes open, I have gotten quite a few of mine lightly used for a lot less than I would have otherwise.
