Want to turbo P5

:
Mazda Protege 5
I have an auto P5 and I am looking to run 4-5 psi. I am going to be getting the msp manifold and turbo with the corksport S and J pipe. I am also going to running with out intercooler since its not needed. What electronic parts would I need to run it properly and since the Wastegate is set for 6-9 psi (I think), would a MBC be able to tune it down or would I need an EBC. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Even though you say its not needed, mazda and calloway did a good job on how the msp kit was put together, and I feel that adding even that lil smic, it still helped out with the reliability of how the car will perform. I can find you a smic for sale that I know a guy here locally if you want.

Are you going to run the coolant lines as well? When I did my swap, reliability was definately a key factor, after all, my car is my only one, and I need to avoid downtime as much as possible. EMS? PM me if you need help on this stuff.

yup Moeed is the guy to talk to when you want a reliable turbo setup...He did his research good.

You can now get separate parts from us to do your own setup. We have 3 different manifolds to choose from, downpipe, Wastegate or actuators and different turbos as well. All oil lines and fittings are available too.

I don't post or spend much time here since I didn't have money to spend until now. My tax return is coming and a I have several thousand to play with along with my bonus.
I really like the MAM Thumper kit. What does everyone think about it and how does it compare to other kits?

here my opinion. you are hindered by the automatic trans, thats the only thing stopping you from boosting 7-10psi. The stock MSP manifold, S and J pipe, intercooler piping and turbo are more than enough to destroy the trans. Get a used MSP setup for cheap, put her in, add a tranny cooler and oil cooler if you dont get the MSP one. At 4-5psi the stock system wont be working hard at all, you know it will be reliable, cheaper than aftermarket stuff and capable of boosting 10+psi down the road if you decide to upgrade your tranny internals or swap a 5-speed. Sure aftermarket stuff is nice, but it is not needed until higher boost levels (10+psi) and ya it might make a bit more power at 5psi, but you could just turn up the boost to 6psi and it would be just as dangerous since boost level has nothing to do with what your tranny can take before it blows and under 10psi is easily managed by whatever fuel control you were planing on using in the first place (im assuming rrfpr)

We now have the low price kit for $2,995.00 which is the same basic kit less the Haltech ECU. You can use a FMU and run 5 psi.
