I have been looking at the Wagner Turbo Kit and is wondering what other people think of this kit compared to the HiBoost kit and MAM kit???

I would. I'd trust him with my first born child.

Wagner got a bad rap because he tried to do another forum member a favor and he burnt him and took a lot of money. Wagner had to try to dig out of from under the hole the guy left him in and people on this forum are too nearsighted to see it wasn't his fault so they blame him for everything.

Andy Wagner is a good guy and a great fabricator. I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from him. In fact I've done group buys for him in the past with much success.

I talked to him and he seems to know what he is talking about. I just wanted other opions. Talking is great, but it is better to hear from people who have bought the items.

no i wouldnt... even if he got a bad rap from that, the products ive seen are not so hot but hey to each its own. They also took like months to get anything.

as much as I like Wagnermotorsports I have to say their internet customer service is definitely less than stellar. on a personal level (which I've experienced) he's excellent

Protito,

I agree with Super Matty, Andrew is a great guy who does really good work. I do not have a protege, but a Mazda 6s (3.0L), which he custom fabbed a twin turbo set up with full custom 3" exhaust. He had my car over the summer and after having the car for a little bit, I dropped it back off at Wagner Motorsports for a few more custom modifications and can't wait to see what he does to the car over the next few weeks.

Goodluck with your decision and your car, and hope everything works out for you. Also, if you need to contact Wagner Motorsports, call the shop during normal business hours to ask any questions.

i met you at the open house z6speed. I spoke with you and your dad brefily and your dad and I guarded the grill pretty closely!

That was a good day met some nice people with some really nice cars. I was following your supercharger project, until my computer was infected with spyware and such recently. I'll have to catch up with your most recent work now, goodluck with everything. Sorry Protito for the threadjack.

ive delt with andy on getting the prototype shorty headers and also having him custom fab a turbo manifold up for me.
ive gone to 2 dyno days and everytime i talk to the man has been open friendly and willing to help out and do things above and beyond the norm to help me.
do other companies make top notch kits? yes
do other compaines supply great customer service? yes
are other people at the other companies great guys? yes
we are blessed with having a couple of great guys making great products for us. andy is one of them.

as for him not being on the boards much there are a few reasons for it. one being the crap that went down with perf and the backlash that happened and another is the fact that he is ALWAYS up to his eyeballs in work.
remember hes not JUST a mazda guy he works with evos and hondas and everything else.
he has a full mustang dyno and is always teaking rides and tunning. the guy knows his stuff.

ive talked to him on the phone and hes been great and very helpful. no problems with him, his kit is nice

I agree with the product quality. I've seen in person one of his manifold catch fire. The flow could not of been the best for it to have done that. There's a video around somewhere of it. The parts do look good but after seeing that, I'm not impressed with the design at all, even if he redesigned it since then.

Thanks for all the info. I have read alot about all the kits on this site and they all seem to have there pros and cons. I am only looking to run 6psi or so. I think I am going to go with the Wagner kit due to the fact he uses a Turbonetics T3. I ahve been told that this is a very good and effective turbo. From what I have read from the other forums it looks like all the kits give about the same hp numbers. Thanks for all the replies.

You should try to get one with a GT series turbo, they are much more efficient and are ball bearing turbo's. GT's are the s***!!!!

Not a direct shot at wagner.... but there are a host of other Turbos that are more efficient and better match to the 2.0L we have...

GT Series.... and the IHI series

z6speed, is your car done? I read about your twin turbo job being done to your car a while ago and just wondered if all the problems are sorted out? any more info on your car I can read about? like if it's done or dynoed or track tested? thanks

A new engine management system is being worked on now. Also, hopefully Superchips will have their system out sometime in March.

When I had the car back for a few months, I took care of a few modifactions and now it is back at Wagner Motorsports and Hot Bodies (paint portion of Wagner Motorsports) getting a few more things done to it. The car will be at the Philadelphia Auto Show, the Tuner Salon portion of the show (in the Mazda USA booth) if you are interested in seeing it (Feb. 5-13).

the T3 is ancient diesel technology... get a kit with a GT series turbo... lightyears better
