VICS transition point

It was around 5k, which was strange, and the engine light came on the second time, i reset the ecu and it's been fine since. The thing is I've never hit spark cut until this was changed.
How does the car feel? Any different? My CEL goes off about hafl the time when I hit boost cut.

I wonder what it is... Maybe a voltage too high from the maf?

s***...
I just found out that all this time I thought the VICS was opening as soon as there was 0vac but it wasn't!! I was missing out on high-end and the car was still pulling hard! Now that I fixed it so that the actuator opens up as soon as there's 0vac, I can't go out and test it until I fix the tranny lol. It looks like that original vac nipple on the manifold that is used from the factory only sees constant vac some how. I switched the vac source for the VICS actuator and now it's working like it should.

So to do this mod all we have to do is plug the actuator into a seperate vacuum

source and plug up the solenoid?

Well basically you'll want to bypass the VICS solenoid all together. Just take the vac tube from the actual actuator and connect it to a free/use a T fitting to tap into another active vac/boost source. Leave the solenoid plugged in, but make sure to cover the open nipple with a cap or something similar to prevent vac leaks. Be careful removing the vac tubes off the solenoid, because the nipple snaps easy. The VICS plates are open by default, therefore you can tell if everything is working ok when the car is on if the actuator in the closed position. The actuator will stay closed until the manifold sees close to or 0vac. If you rev the engine you should see the actuator arm moving.

Not responsible for any damage :D

Yeah, thats the vacuum chamber made in the intake fed by a one way check valve.

I did this the other day. I tapped off just before the MAP sensor and it is one of the better mods that I have done. It is so much more linear and much less jerky. I haven't driven many miles on it, only like 70, but it seems to be a worth while mod.
