Vibrant exhaust dyno

wtf that makes zero sense. im having a cutting out issue since my tbe install. im running stock boost since i installed the controller and the last thing i though about was increasing it after it cut out. i really really find this doubtful lol. Turning up the boost will most likly blow my s*** sky high. Cause i think its running lean

I have an ms cai and vibrant down-pipe exhaust too. no smoking. no sputtering or stalling. the car pulls harder, but I noticed the tip is so black now and i had installed it like only 3 weeks ago. looks like the muffler is like 5 years old or something. hehehe it does make it run rich huh? So this means I can put on an mbc and bcd without worrying about a blown engine as long as i dont turn it up too much, right? maybe 18-20psi? hehehe

or I can save the money for bcd and mbc and but the CPE standback. I dont know a tuner around new jersey though, and I bet it cost an arm and a leg to get it tuned. Does it?

so ken you really think its not running lean? What else could the cutting out be. Its the boost cause the car is only hitting 15psi ish and it has the boost cut defender on it. Now you said you found a couple that were broken...is there a way to tell that its not properly working anymore? Im relaly tempted to turn upt he boost and see what happens

we had no way of knowing, we simply sent it back in and they sent us another one which we are going to try next week

its not dripping out, its just alil bit. Neway im in the process of removing the mbc/fcd and im going for a ride to see if it still happens

laloosh...

Dont think I was encouraging you to turn up the boost...lol. I just thought it is something to consider, considering how surprised I was with my results. Astounded really. Please keep me informed with what you find.

BlackSheep...

My tip looks black as hell, just THICK with soot. I figured this was normal, but Im glad you brought it up. As bad as my stock tip became so quickly, my Vibrant has been worse. Another sign that its running rich.... wow. My tip is yellow on the outside, and black inside.... 5 years old I agree.lol.
Try to get your car dynoed with your setup. That would be great.

Mine is black as well, but my stock exhaust was also black. I don't think it has changed much since adding the Vibrant exhaust and I get no smoke at WOT.

Hmm.. I get no smoke at WOT, but of course I didnt when I was stock either. Maybe just a poof every now and then. I keep reading the boards and I really think Im rich. This shop I went to has a hell of a reputation around here, and I cant believe he would be operating a dyno that is this inaccurate on such a humongous issue as A/F. The guy would be blowing up motors if it was.

Im gonna believe it until more dynos start coming in. Ive got to get engine management. Ive got a custom gauge pod coming in the mail.... and I want the AEM wideband along with the other guages before I do any more mods. This is kind of scary, considering my inexperience thus far.

Captain, Atlantic city is 3 hrs away. Atleast if i decide later on to go there I know to ask u for info ont he dyno shop. Thanks.I'm really tempted to get the CPE now. Any group buy, Ken? I think so far I have most of the supporting mods that will make the EMS worthwhile.

I'm trying to schedule some time on our dyno but he left for SEMA. :(

Only got smoke once for a couple of seconds. I was coming out of Jack in the Box.

I tried a few WOT runs. Hit 100 and my AFR was around 13.2 @ 10psi boost.

Did it a few other times. Full boost (18psi) accelerating past 60mph showed 12.4 AFR steady.

wait wait, so you hit 13.2 @ 10psi and 12.4 @ 18psi?

uh.. thats what I said.

(sleep)

I need to get to work.

Keep in mind that I have the XEDE and its still running the base tune which was meant for a stock speed 3.

like I said in the last post, I havent been able to get on the dyno to get new tunes for all my new mods. The car is running fine with no problems. Still pulls like a beast.

Damn Nutari.... lots of help you were:) Just joking man. With Xede your car really doesnt apply.

Here is the million dollar question.

Is there a dyno, anywhere, of anybody with a downpipe, race pipe, high flow cat, gutted cat, custom cat, custom pipe, etc....

with all or no supporting mods....

who has dipped below 10 A/F before 4000 rpms like me?

Anybody?

Vibrants in house dyno.... for those who havent seen it. I hadnt. I'll be ordering AEMs wideband today, because either my car is a freak or there isnt a dyno in Greensboro, NC thats worth a s***.

Theres no way my dyno is accurate. I cant believe that my MS CAI triggered the ECU to pound the engine with gasoline because Ive now got an aftermarket exhaust.

Sorry Im whining so much. But I figure the guys with the Vibrant, and no EMS, are still interested in this thread.
