Very Low Idle problem

I had a shop install forged pistons/rods and sleeves but they didn't install the balancer shaft after putting it all back together. They have a lot of experience with Honda engines and they said that they never put the balancer shaft back in because most customers don't mind the slight roughness as long as they get another horsepower or two from less drag on the engine. Anyways, they put it all back together, and it idles at like 500 RPMs and the low engine-oil light comes on at idle, prob due to pump not working fast enough. Is the balancer shaft to blame for this??? Or could it be another problem??? I haven't picked up the car yet but I just wanted some input.

HMM not sure a know a lot of DSM guys removed this, But not sure about our cars.

What's a "slough?" What I was thinking is that the balancer shaft acts as a load on the motor, and in return, the motor brings up the RPM. They're trying to figure it out right now but having no luck. No problems at cruise or accel. Just at idle, it's at 500 RPMs and stalls pretty quickly.

Do you get the "low oil" light when the RPMs drop?

If you're getting forged internals I'd assume you have some sort of engine management device, try setting the idle rpms higher?

Yeah my car's getting a full tune at Church's Automotive Testing tomorrow. It should fix the problem. But even if it does, I can't help but wonder what the problem is. Would dropping down to 8.9/1 compression do it???

Mine started having and Idle problem yesterday with the A/C running..i know it drags the motor down but I never noticed it doing it like that before..it almost sputters then it corrects itself..I swicthed my intake setting (hypertech) tune over to a different setting thats when I noticed it the most, took the tune off last night and it still does it in stock mode. It usely rest at the 800 mark, but seems like when I come to a stop light it will drop almost to 500 then hesitate then correct itself...its odd it started that right after I made changes with the HT. I just cleaned the MAF sensor..I guess the next thing is to clean out the throttle body and check the pcv valve.

As of today, I think the computer has corrected the problem...and the car seems to be running fine.

did they put enough oil in? balance shaft delete adds an additional quart or so. only reason im bringing this up is the oil pressure light.

typically, if you drag the motor with the clutch to the point of almost stalling, you get a few lights, oil pressure, alternator, and check engine. the fact that your only getting oil pressure is what concerns me
