Hi everyone,

I'm very close to buying a 2013 Mazda 3 Sport GT. It's a Canadian car, 2.5 L engine, 6-speed manual, 30,000 km. It has the active bending headlights, Bose Centerpoint system with TomTom navigation, leather, proximity key with keyless start, rubber cargo cover and bumper protector, and so on.

I know the tires are close to being worn out and there's a few chips from rocks, but is there anything specific I should be worried about with this combination of engine and transmission?

I have verified records of an oil change with 0W20 Pennzoil synthetic at 15,000 km, and then again at 22,000 km. The car sits at like 30,038 km so it probably needs another oil change.

Any advice on a good place to get the car checked over in Edmonton, AB, Canada? I have access to it for a few days, as the owner is allowing me to borrow the car while he's out of town.

Thanks!

Nothing specific mechanically, just a good once over of all mechanicals. Have it put on a rack and look high and low for rust in that are of the world. Any rock chips should be taken care of quickly, as a little snow and salt in those open wounds will cause cancer in a hurry. Check the body panels all around for fitment and panel gap to make sure someone didn't dump it into a snow bank.
