Like I indicated earlier, every time I get a date from my supplier, it comes and goes with no friggin' parts. This drives me up a freakin' wall!! So I am not giving promise dates, 'cause it just makes me look like an idiot.
That being said, the last word I got from him (yesterday) was that he should be running the first test parts this weekend. While this would be great, I'm not holding my breath. :(

BTW, did everyone see the pics of the tool? Hopefully, that at least shows that I'm not tuggin' on anyone's chain, and that there is indeed some progress being made. ;)

True. On that note....my toolmaker just called and said he's finished with the tool and he'll be running parts through it tomorrow afternoon. Giddy-up!!

Now, these are only test parts for now. I have to inspect them, and if they check out, then we'll run a bunch. If not, we'll make the necessary adjustments and run some more. ;)

Okay people....here we go!!! I left the shop with 9 very nice samples in my hands. :) Here are some pics....

I've painted a couple just to give you a good view of what you'll be getting. ;)

I still have to check the size of the outer diameter by installing it into our "test vehicle". Once this feature is verified, we'll run the first batch of official parts. YEAH!! In the mean time, I'm sending two parts to The RPMStore for Donny's final approval. I'm very confident that he'll like what he sees. Giddy-UP!

Anyhow, have a look and let me know what you think.

The best part was that we made 15 parts in under 10 minutes!!! None of this waiting around for the resin to set up and all that garbage! They literally came "hot off the press", LOL!
They came out of the tool a bit big, but as they cooled, their dimensions dialed right in. We're seeing a shrink factor of approx. 0.7% (0.007" per inch).
We're going to let them sit for 24 hours and then take our measurements.

I am SO glad to finally have these puppies ready! I know all of you have been waiting for what seems like way too long, and I really want to thank each and every one of you for hanging in there!! You guys are great!

I believe you will be very happy with this product, and for me, that makes all the waiting worth it!! It seems that my toolmaker has his immediate health issues behind him now, so hopefully we can jump right into getting the other products launched really soon. Normally, I would have pulled out of his shop a while ago (business is business), but I really like the fact that he is located literally right around the corner. It gives me the freedom to "pop-in" whenever I get the hankerin'. :)
Today was the first time that I really got the chance to watch him work. He is very good at what he does. I was impressed with his skill on the various machines needed to make the tool, and also setting up the 120 ton press to run the parts. Hell, it only took 20 minutes to set the tool in the plattens, dial in the cycle time etc., and run 15 parts. WOW!

Anyway, stay tuned for the final word!! All I have to do now is buy some boxes to package them in and write the installation instructions, which will be a downloadable .PDF file. ;)

Oh, believe me, I'll be tellin' EVERYONE! lol!

On another note; I submitted my final paperwork on Wednesday for the patent. It has been deemed "allowable for patent" and all I had to do was fork over the "issue fee".

Yeah buddy!!
