valves or rings?

im looking at a 93 mx 6 for $900. it needs break lines and it smokes a little. he says he doesnt loose alot of oil for the amount it smokes and mentioned he thinks it has something to do with the valves. could this be right? and if so how hard would it be to fix? also i believe the clutch and breaks run off the same fluid. would the leak in the break lines really cause the clutch to hardly ingage?

yes it would. repair the leak and bleed both systems. most likely he was talking about valve seals. does it smoke mostly at start up?

i agree check the valve seals, well replace them they are like 20 dollars for all of them.
