Vaccum leak or Timing problem?

I dont get it. There shouldn't be any boost in the flex hose. That part is before the turbo. Please explain.

I would geuss becuase the hole was allowing air in after the MAF

No No,,, tyhere wasn't any boost. I'm thinking the tight clamp and poor quality rubber just ripped. The hole was causing a rupture in the system. It's basically like not having ANYTHING connected to the turbo inlet.

Unfiltered air and no resistance will really mess things up.

Yes,,,, also all the air was being sucked in past the MAF sensor.

SMP if you start you car with the a/c on 2 or 3 do the revs go down low like 300 then catch themselves and go back up?
