Using hot glue in a car environment

Has anyone used hot glue in their car? I'm considerign using it but don't know if the car's environment will melt it. My guess is that it may soften it.

Any opinions?

I have used it without problems. You do want to check out the type of stick you are using, some are low temp, like those used in hobby stuff. You have to have a gun that will match the temp of the glue too. Check out McMaster-Carr for the good stuff.

Just used it today to re-glue the ring onto an aftermarket shift boot.
For small things it shouldn't be a problem.

I lost all my lug nuts on my wheels, I've used hot glue instead for the past 400 miles and it's worked great

Yeah Sorry.

I'm actually gluing two items

First I'll be reattaching the ring to my shiftboot once I get the new redline stuff.

Second. I got one of these:

And it works great with the exception of the pivot points at the charger and the cradle end. They tend to come loose in hard driving so I was going to pin them down with some hotglue.

I don't like using epoxy as much becasue if I make a mistake I can always "fix it".

I used it to mount my boost gauge in my driver side vent. It's heald up fine for the near year I've had it there.
