Both of my remotes are busted.. and i am scared to open the door with my key, as usually in the past this made the alarm go off.. and i dont want to cause a ruckus in the neighborhood! I have no idea what to do... and i need my car!

Anyone know how to access my car that was previously locked with the remote? Is there some procedure I should do?
I heard there are a few things:
  1. Unlock the drivers door, but keep the key in and turned for like 10 seconds or so
  2. Unlock the car, and then insert the key into the ignition and turn it off and on 5 times

I dont want to start trying all sorts of weird things and then have my car alarm go off all night, is there anything tried true and tested?

I have a mazda 3 2007 gt .... your help would be sooo appreciated!!

If it is a factory alarm (was that available? my 2012 GS doesn't have one) the owner's manual would have the answer.
I really dislike crappy aftermarket alarm systems, so if it is aftermarket I would unlock the door with the key, then disconnect the alarm unit and throw it away. Problem permanently solved...

Take a couple of hours off from work and call the dealership or alarm manufacturer. There should be a way to disable the CA with the key, but I would be reluctant to experiment as well.

I understand the reluctance to set off the alarm.

On the other hand, I've heard many car alarms go off, and I've never seen anyone react by doing anything about it, so - at least here - it would just be embarrassing noise pollution. It's not like the cops are going to appear, lights flashing, and demand that you prove you're the owner. One reason I have no patience for people whose stupid alarms go off when no one is trying to break into the car, is that the owner never shows up to see what's up; if the owner doesn't care, why is he bothering me with the noise?

My Mazda 3 has an aftermarket combined alarm and remote starter, which the previous owner had installed. I don't use it, because it would just be an annoyance for no benefit. I don't even use the remote start feature in the winter, because I don't want to deal with the procedure needed to make it work or the chance of setting the stupid alarm off.
